The Foreign Language Thread

Ok, let's start a thread about languages. First of all, let me say that I love languages, they have been an important part of my life, and I have the privilege of knowing a few. I'm really curious to see how many people out there share this feeling.
There has been another language poll (2 years old thread), but let's add a little twist. I suggest a format similar to this:
<your native language>
<any other language you know> <rate from 1-10>
<any other language you would like to learn>
Feel free to add other relevant information, such as specifying whether you talk fluently, or just understand it, or just know informal stuff, or counting numbers, or swearing, etc.

Meanwhile, I'll start myself.
My native language is Spanish.
Learned fluent French as a child, I still understand it perfectly, but haven't spoken it for a long time and now is all rusty. Let's call that 6/10. Italian 9.5/10. English 9.5/10. Arabic 4/10, I know the basic stuff, how to read and write, and can speak good enough to survive most everyday situations. Portuguese 5/10, I understand most of it, however I'm not able to hold a serious conversation for too long.
When I was a teen I used to learn how to count 1-10 in other languages, such as Greek, Turkish, German and still to this day I remember Swahili numbers.
I would really like to learn Greek. Also, very recently I began learning how to read and write Japanese hiragana and katakana. Let's see how it goes from there.

My native language is English.
I learned fluent Russian as a child coming from a Russian speaking home :P, I'd call it a 10/10 because it's really an interesting language. Also, I think the whole Cyrillic alphabet is pretty awesome, too.
I also know a bit of Ukrainian, but I'd rate that a 7/10 because I just personally don't like the sound of it as much as Russian :P However, they're both very similar.
And as far as learning new languages goes, I'd really like to learn Spanish because it's a very common language here in the United States and I'd really like to be able to communicate with more people. I feel like learning new languages and knowing more languages kind of like... unlocks a whole group of people for you to communicate with. It's pretty crazy.

I love languages as well! I hope to go into Linguistics. I always pick up a little of different languages.
English is my native language.
German 6/10 Chinese 3/10 (Mandarin) Dutch 4/10 Afrikaans 2/10 Spanish 1/10 (I live in an area that is heavily Latino, and I hear it all the time. I know a few phrases that are thrown around a lot)
I can make out a lot of Dutch and Afrikaans due to my knowledge of English and German. I also know quite of a bit of Japanese characters, and know a lot of the Japanese Kanji from my Chinese Knowledge. I can also read a lot more Chinese than I can speak.
Other languages that I'd love to learn are Japanese, Swedish, Cantonese, Korean, French, Polish, Russian... Pretty much any language. I just love them so much. It's just fascinating to see how different cultures think, and what they deem are important through their everyday vocabulary. For example, one of my teachers who is from an African country, told me that his language only has words for the colors Black, Red, and White. He said that was because those were the only important colors to his people. He went on to say that if you wanted to say blue or green, you had to compare it the sky, by saying something like, "It was colored like the sky." Or, "It looked like grass."
Pretty awesome.

It is interesting how people acquire different languages. I really like learning about cultures.
English Native Speaker (10/10)
Chinese 中文 : Mandarin (Taiwan Accent) - (8.5/10) (Spoken daily)(Express concepts and ideas: business and conversation, reading is decent), writing of traditional characters kind of sucks. Cantonese - (3/10) (Phrases, same written characters) (too many tones!, uuuuhhh!) Taiwanese - (2/10) (Phrases and small vocab) Hakka/Hokkien - (1/10) (Few words for entertainment value)
Spanish: (5/10) (Phrases and basic conversations) Grew up in SoCal..... Tagalog, and Hawaiian: (1/10) (Few words and phrases for entertainment value)
Want to improve my speaking and writing of Chinese for business, and learn some basic Japanese because I get really lost in Japan.

Native speaker of English
Spanish: 7/10 Latin: 3/10 French: 3/10 Japanese: 3/10
My high school offered a bunch of foreign languages but the programs were just awful. If I could learn another language right now it would be Mandarin or Hindi/Urdu.

Behold the hippopotamus!
We laugh at how he looks to us,
And yet in moments dank and grim,
I wonder how we look to him.
Peace, peace, thou hippopotamus!
We really look all right to us,
As you no doubt delight the eye
Of other hippopotami
