Yup, that is garlic in the wheelbarrow. I got next years garlic in at the end of October.
I found that puffball hiking down by the river one morning and it ended up being breakfast.
I have some cool weather crops in now, I'll have to get some pics of.

Nice garden! I am restarting mine this year after abandoning it two falls ago after an infestation of chickory. Most all weeds are out and just getting started with a cover crop for green manure. Also collecting lots of wood chippings and local horse manure for composting to mix in next fall.
Its a lot of work, so I am putting in some parsnips, daikon, and eating favas so that I can eat something a bit after the cover crop has come down.
What state are you located in if you don't mind me asking?

I'm in northeastern Maryland. The zone seems to be 6b/7a, and I think that has changed over the years.
Yes, a lot of work for sure, it sounds like you're doing it up right, though.
Speaking of wood chips, I recently watched this movie on the subject. The guy just keeps piling on wood chips year after year, mimicking nature in a way. Sounds like what they call permaculture nowadays.
He quotes some scripture throughout, but I found it so informative otherwise, it is well worth watching, even if you're not into that aspect.

How hard is the dripline hosing? It looks like it makes maintenance of the crops so much easier once you plant em in the ground. Would love to know how to do it

Dripline works great! We have an abundance of it because we used to market garden years ago, but they do make smaller scale kits. Very simple to set up, it snaps together like legos, basically. And I can usually get 3-4 seasons out of the drip hose, the rest of the parts and fittings can probably last 5o years. It's relatively inexpensive.
It beats any other kind of watering because you can turn it on and with the slow drip there is very little water usage and no runoff. In the middle of the hottest, driest part of summer, I turn it on overnight about every 3 days and that does the trick. Keeps the garden lush while the lawns around it are dry and brittle.

The scripture bits were a bit odd for me as a devout Atheist, but I did not find them pushy or distasteful.
We have been sheet mulching and doing similar things, but have a mounded row like system, would like to put in some drip as well this season.
Do you have a greenhouse or some indoor lights for starting seeds? I think I am going to get some used medical marijuana grow supply for my garden this year for starts.
I visit North Eastern PA every summer and am thinking about moving in a few years from warm CA to start a farm there... Don't know if I would last the winters though...

I start all my seedlings in the basment under 4ft flouro shop lights. I use a heat mat for tomatoes, peppers and other summertime crops. Works great.
I also have an old 400w high pressure sodium light that I use just before setting them out, because I run out of room under the flouros. I start tomatoes and peppers for a few people.
There are a few things you can get through the winter, like cole crops, with the help of straw for insulation and row cover here. You would be a little farther north than me.
I can give lettuce a nice kick start indoors. Then I can transplant at the distance needed. Eliminates thinning.
Just push in the plug.
Works great for all the leafy greens.

really awesome looking garden you had! 11' was my second season for gardening and things didn't work out the way I hoped. I trusted too many crazy volunteer plants to make decent fruit but they all were horrible. I HAVE to get myself a small flouro light and start my seeds indoors before next season comes. Growing things is my most favorite thing to do in the world !! I love seeing other people's gardens. Thanks for sharing

Salsa is one of my favorite things to do with the summertime veggies. Last winter I bought a molcajete and was making some killer salsa verde. There are tons of recipes for salsas made with the molcajete on youtube.

I'm in zone 6a and the weather here is unseasonably warm...(mid 60s) needless to say, I'm getting the growing bug and can't wait to start! The weather here can be very unpredictable so it may snow next week, who knows... it's looking like the birds think spring is here early. They are such creatures of habit.
My gardening challenge of 2011 is to keep my cat from ruining seedlings by using my raised beds as litter boxes.
