SNESoid is pretty cool.
ROMBuddy is an app w/ pretty much every SNES game ever made available for download.
Other than that, it's all a matter of personal preference.
I just got rid of my android phone and got an iPhone like a week ago, LOL. Not that I wasn't happy w/ the Android OS. I loved it.

Get AppKiller. It shuts down your apps that aren't being used thus saving battery life.

If your a star gazer, Google Sky Map is pretty damn cool. The flashlight app is super handy, too. Used it countless times. Pandora Barcode Scanner

Good deal, I started off at 2.1 and things have noticeably improved with every incantation.
Sky Map is awesome my kid love it... Dumbass will wander around the living room bumping into shit because he's holding it up looking at the ceiling. A Flashlight is a MUST! The barcode scanner I have is called QuickMark, it works very nice. If you use eBay at all, their app has gotten a lot better in the last few updates. I have an HTC, so I like the Weather Channel app a lot better than the OEM weather app.
Some other apps I have:
In addition to Pandora, I have Slacker Radio. Its similar, but its more like a SiriusXM sorta deal.
WinAmp, I like it alot more than the embedded media player.
Flixter and IMDB for movie stuff.
I have ConvertPad (its a unit conversion app) and Dictionary.com, both of those are REALLY helpful and I use them more than I expected.
I use androidVNC to remote into my home theater PC so I can play music on it without turning on the TV.
I have a GPS Status app that I used at work alot, but I worked with GPS systems constantly. If you end up having issues with your GPS on your phone (pretty common), it can come in handy.
WiFi Analyzer I use a lot, if you do anything with wireless networking its priceless.
LiveProfile is a great IM program, it is similar to BlackBerry Messenger (which people love) but they have a version for every platform.
For shits and giggles, Urban Dictionary is always good for a laugh, they have a word of the day widget. And download the game Dope Wars, its addicting (no pun intended).
You can spend all day browsing the Android Market... I'd have a lot more, but have an HTC Desire and its hampered by an abysmally small amount of internal memory.

Google music. Allows you to stream music from your desktop. No need to use up sd card space for music.

Does that work over the wireless network, or just wi-fi?
Dunno if you've ever messed with WinAmp, but they have a program called WinAmp Remote that is a WinAmp web interface that uses your home PC as a server that can be used anywhere. But the web interface doesn't work properly on an Android (at least last time I tried) and there was a single app that did do it, but it was 3rd party so WinAmp busted their ass... If Google Music does something similar, that would be AWESOME!

Works over both. Basically it uploads the music to some server so that it can be accessed anywhere. Pretty awesome replacement for an iPod. Works awesome if you have an unlimited data plan.

Tinyshark - web streaming music, basically grooveshark for mobile Soundhound - ID songs you hear uTorrent Remote - controls utorrent on a remote machine FoodSpotting - user submitted reviews/pics of nearby eateries. stumbleupon - for wasting time on the go Maps (-) - caches maps so you can still navigate using gps/maps with no network connection My Tracks - if you like to hike off the beaten path this will record your "paths" Snuko - security feature for lost/stolen phones Mixology - the only liquor app you'll ever need Fing - Network enumeration tool...if you're into that sort of thing OpenSignalMaps - Locates towers, reports wifi speeds
