Im going to go move into a foreclosed million dollar home (squat) * 2
    #15399645 - 11/20/11 10:13 PM (1 year, 5 months ago)

Yeah,

so i have been looking for places for rent for a while now, and have been finding a lot of little shitty apartments. But while driving around, I came across a number of vacant homes. Further research on them showed several of them to be in the foreclosure process.

So, i started just walking up to some of them, many of them were open, unlocked, and otherwise unsecured. I found a nice one that is valued at over a million, which was open and had a set of keys laying on the kitchen counter.

So, tomorrow I move, in. I had the utilities switched into my name, and are getting hooked up as we speak. I have spent a few days over the last week, cleaning out the place, and waving to the neighbors as I drive by. essentially establishing a presence.

Im not sure how long it will last, or how long it will be before i Get evicted, but considering the monthly morgage on the place would be around 6 grand, even staying there for a few weeks would be fine by me.

I know that typical squatters arent tolerated, but moving in to a million dollar house, and turning on the utilities, i dont think any one would even consider i was there illegally. I cant wait to put up some christmas lights and decorations!

A few of the OWS crew has stated that Occupying foreclosures would be a great way to really shove it in the big banks faces, and I agree. They fucked up our economy, and fucked up my life as well. I dont see a single thing wrong with what I am doing.

Ill try and keep this thing updated as to my progress.
Its such an amazing house, beautiful breathtaking views, barely any neighbors for blocks, on a mountain  gorgeous.

ehh,, How many other foreclosed homes are in the area? I dont see this turning out good.. putting the ultilies in your name only gives them more of a case against you...

Ppl dont generally leave stuff unlocked unless its kinda like an open house where the rich ppl just drive by and go in there and check it out..

I could get charged with trespassing, but it's all ready a misdemeanor, and to be honest I already have a trespassing charge on my record for walking across a train bridge ( stupid case IMO) but ultimately I won't go to jail, and there probably won't even be any charges filed aside from an eviction which is a civil matter

I am all for this.. but they could charge you with a lot more.. I could easily see destruction of private property.. thief by taking.. cause you took the keys..breaking and entering..  and if you already have a trespassing on your record that doesnt look good..  and the list goes on..

Good luck if you try this tho.. I hope they forget about the house all together and you get a free mansion..

true and true except for the last part. They will not forget about a mansion. I suggest he/she at least contacts or looks into the life of the reality person. This house is under their belt. If you see how that person reacts or acts in general .. then you will understand how they might possibly act if they know what your doing..

Yeah, Im not destroying, or damaging the property at all, im improving it quite a bit, cleaning it up. I am making efforts to document this just in case as well. the statute of the law in the state i am in requires an intent to harm or steal from the property to charge me with B&E, thats not present here.

as much as i like to say this is a million dollar house, thats what it used to be, i think now adays its a 400K+ house, and there are tons of these in the area where I am at. so, it is pretty much just sitting for now. eventually im sure theyre going to want to do something with it, but i think i have some time...

regardless, this will be an interesting expierence, and perhaps training for getting a different house in the future.

FUCKING AWESOME !!!

Usual practice is to change the locks, then others can only get in via forced entry which is illegal.

If its open, then you didnt break in.  You have rights (thats how it works in the UK anyway).

Might cost a bit, but would be worth it.  Change the locks, make it yours.

I'm very familiar with the adverse possession laws of the state that I am in. I actually discussed them at length with a $600-hr lawyer a few years back. I am highly educated in law pertaining to abandoned property, I'm planningy big move in right before the thanksgiving holiday so that there will be less focus and available leo's available.

I smell sooooo much bullshit it's unreal. You happened to be driving in a neighborhood with nonexistent neighbors and breath taking views. You drove through a neighborhood located on a mountain and were able to determine that this one house, isolated from neighbors and you were able to determine it was unoccupied. you,re having power turned on in a vacant home??? well we own two homes, one of them was vacant with it's utilities shut of and in order to have everything turned back on we had to provide all utilities with the docket number of of our property lot indicating we were owners aty the county registers office!!! Tell me, what actually stood out in your mind that said, bingo! i got me a new home. you went from taking a stroll through a neighborhood full of vacant mansions to a neighborhood where your neighbors are so far away from you they'll never be a problem for you. you claim you discovered a bottle of wine in the wine cellar and as you're typing away you're sipping a glass of wine now. man, there's so much more. you a lying mother fucker and these stupid idiots are cheering you on and are buying into this fantasy story of yours hook line and sinker!!! well i have news for you pal, i see right through your bullshit. if you're really occupying a vacant mansion, show us a picture of you standing in the wine cellar holding up a sign saying "i told you so". you can have a a mask on if you like. just do it. and don't say you don't have anyone to hold the camera because you just got done saying you plan on throwing a party so you obviously know at least one person who could take this picture. you're a fucking liar!!!

like i said there's so much more bullshit i could call you on but my wife thinks i'm being ridiculous posting this this absurd fantasy. and let's assume you're telling the truth, your facing more then just a trespass charge. you should know this, after all you're highly educated, you should know this, after all you paid a $600.00 an hour lawyer to help you understand squatters rights years ago. was this something you always planned on doing??? lying mother fucker!!! i see right through your bullshit story.  :laugh2:

I DEMAND A PICTURE!!! WE ALL DESERVE A PICTURE!!!

LIAR LIAR LIAR LAIR LIAR LIAR!!!

i'm not upset really. i read peoples shit all the time and recognize bullshit, based on conflicting elements of their story and just roll with it. but this dudes story is so flawed, it's unreal. i'm not one for being entertained by utter bullshit, i'll go along with it sometimes, but not this time. i do have to admit what got me the most was all the support he received. everybody saying, yeah dude! do it! stick to the banks! and other shit. what fucking retards! so i pointed out some the problems i had with the original poster story. he lost me the moment he claimed he had the utilities turned on because i know for a fact you have to prove ownership through the county registers office. there may be different requirements elsewhere. besides, he would have to provide identification for billing purposes. he claims he's highly educated and was able to pay a lawyer $600.00 an hour yet he's squating. and educated, wealthy individual is squating somewhere high on a mountain somewhere... i was hoping to veer this thread in a new direction, one of truth. if OP can provide a photo, i'll give him $500.00. yeah, i immediately smelt a large, festering pile of shit and all you imbeciles are so into this. very scary, i've lost all hope that intelligent life exists, at least in the anonymous forum.

hello people of the internet, haha

any of the mods on here feel free to look at my user name, ive been around here for YEARS, and if you knew who i was, this would make a lot of sense. and if you want to think its bullshit, thats okay.

truth be told, i do have the money to go rent or buy a place right now if i so chose, but i decided it would be more of an interesting experience to actually try out this squatting thing.

I was just as surprised that i didn't have to show any documentation, much less any ID at the time i called in for services to be registered. I did have to provide my name and SS number.

Im also making daily video recordings of my efforts to compile into a summary presentation after the fact, after this is all said and done, i will make it available.

There are several details that i am clearly leaving out for my own protection, obviously i cant disclose the location of this place or even take any pictures of it because they could be used to track down the actual location....

I moved all of my stuff in to the place today, and tonight is going to be my first night there. I think that im going to cook myself a turkey for thanksgiving  only the second ever thanksgiving i have ever cooked! sadly, i am living alone out here for the time being, so it will be solo, but hey, thats ok by me.

I have 2 friends who are supposed to move into the place with me if and when they arrive in town. one is supposed to come in about a week, the other in 2 months. we will see if this thing is still going on by then!

I was laughing at the "stick it to the banks" bs too.  And you can have utilities turned on without proving ownership at least in my area you can.  Especially if you pay what the previous folks owed on the bill.  A friend of mines house went into foreclosure, his family moved to a trailer park on the otherside of town.  I paid to have the utilities turned back on in order to start a grow op.  Milked a few months out of the place....

I know that you can pay taxes on property for a certain amount of time (years). You do this when the taxes have not been payed by the owner. After that time frame is up, if the owner has not payed tax properties, you get the land. ..

#5 what you are talking about is called adverse posesion, and it is infact a way to obtain property that has been abandoned. While the USA does not have any squatters rights, if the property does go uncontested, you can gain lawful title (quiet title action)

this will likely not be the case in my scenario.

Getting arrested, having some bullshit and non-bullshit charges thrown at me by the DA, risking jail, earning another notch on my criminal record, and having to hire a lawyer or taking a Public Defender all for a few months of free rent seems a poor choice with destructive consequences.

The bank owns the home and if its really a "million dollar" home, they'll be moving it to recoup the money they lost.

This is typical nowadays, blame the banks and everyone else for your own financial irresponsibility.  Live within your means and you won't have to steal million dollar homes from people.

Couldn't they charge you rent if they catch you and know how long you've been there?

ANY damages in the home weather you did it or not will most likely be your responsibility to pay for when you eventually get caught.

Rule number one I learned back in my grow days, you can't have any one turn you in, if you never tell anyone.

I have put a lot of time and effort into researching most all of the potential outcomes of this situation, and have done some looking into the properties status etc... Interestingly enough, no one can seem to tell me who owns it!

It looks unlikely that I'll get arrested for this, likely I'll just get treated like any other owner-occupant of a foreclosed home, asked to leave first, then threatened with eviction, the. Perhaps evicted formally if I let it get that far.

I mean. There is a lot of sympathy for people getting tossed out
By the banks these days. I have even spoken to local relatirs who have heard of people living in their houses for up to 3 years before someone comes to their door. On the short end Of things (minimum amount if time) we are probably talking weeks.

A lot of this is based on information I can't share without making it really easy to pinpoint my location, sorry.

You mean...you don't know which bank owns it, right?  In my county, you can just look up the owner of a property and see who the mortgage is through.  It's public record.

If its of any value, its in the bank's best interest to sell it ASAP.  Every second they don't have that money lent out, they are LOSING money.  If it's really a million dollar property they'll move it quickly.

Anyone who's ever dealt with the law knows that google is no substitute for a lawyer.  Hopefully it ends well.  I'm curious of the outcome.

Over here houses get squat because banks purposedly leave it out to rot so they can make more money later...

Yeah and the owner purposedly letting houses rot so they can make more on the market years later whilst it could've been rented out/sold earlier is disgusting

Not the case in the house being discussed. Home owners have the right to do whatever they want with their own house. There is no shortage of houses on the market WTF do you care if someone wants to hold theirs until prices go up.

Paying taxes on a house while letting it deteriorate all while losing out on interest payments is how banks make money of the non-sheeples.

"Yeah, we spent that to. Just give us a blank cheque."

But hey mr bankster, can't you just create more money by creating derivatives on fractional reserve money?

well, i think were at day 4 here! pretty exciting. I keep expecting someone to come knock on the door and ask me what the hell im doing, but its yet to happen. But i have to say, im somewhat uncomfortable there, all alone. Im thinking about trying to get a roomate, or a friend to come move in with me. Its just that I dont want all of the shit i have in the house to suddenly be all gone one day.

Im still reasonably sure that i should have notice before anything 'hits the fan' but then again, there are really no gaurantees in this situation.

I still find it hart to believe, that NO one to this point, knows or cares that im there!

If someone caught me living there I would just tell them I paid someone rent to move in. I would pretend like I have no idea wtf is going on. I would tell them I paid 6 months rent and signed an agreement. WTF do you mean I'm trespassing?!?!? I'm renting this place.

It would look like I got caught up in a scam and I might get out of any trouble that I might be in otherwise.

In order to claim adverse possession you have to posses it openly, if you make some false lease documents then you are not in adverse possession; you're trespassing and committing fraud. I love the idea but if you are going to do it right then you should follow the law. Do you know the laws for your state?

You sure about that?  What happened to Randy Quaid?  Arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and burglary?

There were those people in Kirkland too...they got arrested but no charges came about.

I guess it depends on who catches you.  A real estate agent who walks in on you is probably more likely to let you slide and just move out than nosy neighbors who call the real estate agency to find out that you've been squatting in their old friend's house.

you know, in all honesty, this started out as a fun venture, and interesting social expirement. However, i had a few people that were supposed to be coming and living with me. they have since flaked out, and now, im becoming more and more concerned about this whole thing going bad.

i really dont expect some sort of legal issue to come about, but namely, im concerned that the things i have in that house, are in jepardy, and that is somewhat preventing me from getting some of the things i need to take care of, to live my life. bills, side projects, etc....

i have been spending some time thinking about an exit strategy....

perhaps i can negotiate a cash for keys exchange, where i call up the relators, explain i was defrauded into leasing the place.....

hmmm

this whole thread is preposterous. following your own time line you managed to move furniture into your new home in less then a two day time span. my sister had difficulty locating a mover who could meet her three week deadline. i smell so much spice it's unreal, but i continue looking forward to each new post you put up. i love the way you put your own spin on things.

As if the other bullshit wasn't enough to convince everyone he's full of shit, the hot tub refernce was the nail in the coffin. I worked in the pool/spa industry for six years. There is alot more to hot tubs than "fill with water and turn it on". You need proper water chemistry. Did you walk your candy ass down the mountain to the local pool store and carry a 50# bucket of cal-hypo back with you? How about cynaruic and muriatic acid? You might need some soda ash too. Without circulation and proper treatment, that hot tub would be a cesspool in a matter of days.

To the fireplace all night got hammered, found some really cheap plane Tix on the Internet and actually bought 2 round trip fares for 2 friends to come see me.

Hot tub or 2 in the past, I'm afraid of freeze damage and leaks

Here's a quote from Wikipedia on squatters rights in England and Wales

Quote:

.    Main article: Land Registration Act 2002#Adverse possession
In England and Wales, adverse possession has been governed by the Limitation Act 1980, the Land Registration Act 1925 and the Land Registration Act 2002. Different rules are in place for the limitation periods of adverse possession in unregistered land[10] and registered land.[11]

For unregistered land, the Limitation Act of 1980 states that a squatter must remain in adverse possession for 12 years,[12] at which point the paper owner's title to the land is extinguished.

For registered land, adverse possession claims completed before 13 October 2003 (the date the 2002 Act came into force)[13] are governed by section 75(1) and 75(2) of the Land Registration Act of 1925. The limitation period remains the same (12 years) but instead of the original owner's title to the land being extinguished, the original owner holds the land on trust for the adverse possessor.[14] The adverse possessor can then apply to be the new registered proprietor of the land.[15]

The position of a registered landowner was significantly improved by the Land Registration Act of 2002. Where land is registered, the adverse possessor may apply to be registered as owner after 10 years[16] of adverse possession and the Land Registry must give notice to the true owner of this application.[17] This gives the landowner a statutory period of time [65 business days] to object to the adverse possession, and if they do so the application fails. Otherwise, the squatter becomes the registered properietor according to the land registry. If the true owner is unable to evict the squatter in the two years following the first application, the squatter can apply again after this period and be successful despite the opposition of the owner. The process effectively prevents the removal of a landowner's right to property without his knowledge, while ensuring squatters have a fair way exercising their rights.

Where a tenant adversely possesses land, there is a presumption that he is doing so in a way that will benefit his landlord at the end of his term. If the land does not belong to his landlord, the land will become part of both the tenancy and the reversion. If the land does belong to his landlord, it would seem that it will be gained by the tenant but only for the period of his term.[18]

I'll assume you're aware that laws in England and Wales have absolutely nothing to do with laws in the U.S., so if you're in the U.S. a wiki on squaters rights is not going to help you.

But meh, if you make it there 10 years then sure, I'd give it to you.

Sounds like its still going well.  Keep updating as I'm curious as to how it all turns out.

I was never under the illusion that I would be able to stay here for a long time....or that I could pull an adverse possession off

Also, as I've said from the beginning, there are some details I would love to share, but can't. At least till this whole thing is said

If he posted a pic inside the house they might be able to find out what house it is and arrest him. Then throw him in Maxium security prison.

ehh,, How many other foreclosed homes are in the area? I dont see this turning out good.. putting the ultilies in your name only gives them more of a case against you...

Ppl dont generally leave stuff unlocked unless its kinda like an open house where the rich ppl just drive by and go in there and check it out..

^ This. It's not squatting when you actually like, turn on utilities. Then it just turns into something weird. Eventually you're going to be arrested

oooohhhh #1. what are we going to do with you? you post laws pertaining to wales, you are occupying, or at least say you're occupying a mansion on a mountain somewhere in the US. these 12 year adverse possession laws clearly don't apply here. what up wit dat? i'd still like to see a photo of you holding up a sign saying "i told you so!" while standing in the wine cellar. now i understand your friends are unwilling to move in with you but surely you have one friend who'll take the picture for you. you could wear an anonymous mask.

Why do you care so much if you KNOW that this is bullshit; that no one can find a foreclosed home in the US and squat in it with friends and furniture? To what end, I ask.

to what end he asks. cup of tea? la di da.

look. i expect a certain amount of bullshit in an anonymous forum, but this is beyond the pale. are you really buying this shit? someone with as advanced language skills as you have? do you really think it's unreasonable for me to ask him for a photo of himself in the wine cellar he happened to find a bottle of wine in while holding a sign that simply says "i told you so"??? i told him it would be fine to wear a mask.

to what end! HA!

But you haven't pointed out any bullshit. Seriously, all the things you've "exposed" are simple things that, while not highly likely to happen, still possible and pretty reasonable. The only real point you've made in this thread is that to have the utilities in YOUR house turned on, you had to provide the docket number, which can easily be explained by the OP that you don't live in the same state as the him or that whoever the he called to turn on the utilities is 'lax with the rules. Besides that, you've just been making a complete ass out of yourself by literally questioning that the OP found a foreclosed and distant home in the mountains. You didn't even answer my question, and the OP probably doesn't want to give you a picture because you sound like a raving loony and a serial rapist with how obsessed you are with his extremely likely story.

i've pointed out many more flaws in this story and i'm not going to point them out but force you to look for them. and to call me a raving loony and a serial rapist, that i'm obsessed? well obsessed, yeah maybe. but this story is so seriously flawed in so many ways. and besides the numerous other points i've made regarding this thread you over look the other three that other anons posted, pretty significant ones. you said yourself said "while not highly likely to happen, still possible and pretty reasonable..." highly unlikely but pretty reasonable? you're quite the loser to buy this shit. i'm standing by my request. one single photo in a basement wine cellar isn't going to expose his location. you know what, i have this strangest feeling i'm in an exchange with a hardcore pedophile. some lech who hangs out in playgrounds or chuckie cheezes. how's that for an ad hom.

You sir, are an idiot. You spout off like you're some kind of fucking know-it-all. In order to claim Adverse Possession you have to occupy to property openly. So what is #1 doing? Occupying it openly. He pays the utilities, he has keys. Sounds like somebody who is in possession of that property.

#1 Good luck, and I'll keep checking in for the updates.

extremely, likely story.

All your points were shit like "He just happened to find a FORECLOSED HOME that was not only VALUABLE but FAR AWAY FROM PEOPLE in the MOUNTAINS??!?!?!" Yeah, that's pretty much the definition of a mountain home, and the foreclosure isn't surprising in the least considering the econmic downturn and whatnot. Then you made some bullshit claim about moving his furniture in two or so days. The OP doesn't have that much furniture to move or he got help, this isn't some gaping plot hole. The OP doesn't want to post pictures, which is why he's ignoring you, and if that isn't evidence enough that he doesn't want to share anything, just look at the forum we're posting in. In any case, why would a photo from a wine cellar completely justify and irrevocably prove that everything the OP posts is true? Go play internet detective in some other forum.

all you imbeciles are living life vicariously through OP. very sad. yes, one photo taken in the wine cellar with him wearing a mask while holding a sign saying "i told you so!" would be all i need to become a bigger fan of his then you you. how in gods name is this going to expose his location? you people are not only sucking his nutsack, your tonguing his brown eye! i hate big banks just as much as everyone here. i got permission from my wife and spent four days on wall street, i didn't even take the trains home, i spent three nights on the streets. i'm into the fucking movement. but in his opening statement he went from looking at shitty apartments to cruising wealthy neighborhoods in the mountains and driving by he was able to ascertain they were unoccupied(million dollar homes are always setback at least 100 feet). that he checked out a few out that were distantly spread apart. he walked home to home before finally selecting one. and that's just the first sentence. i want a fucking photo. and i'm really hoping that i have others out there who see through this bullshit too who'll join me so i can drive that pedo ass of yours batshit insane crazy. i don't think it's unreasonable to ask for one photo.

I'm not talking about how into any movement you are, I'm questioning why a photo in any wine cellar the OP posts is going to make you say "Damn, I guess you did do those things I thought impossible before because you are in a wine cellar." That is what makes you an idiot, that you're thrown off by such minute things, but are willing to redact them on such flimsy evidence. And you still have made only one valid point why is bullshit (dockets and that), but everything else you spew out is what the OP said verbatim with the context of it being unlikely. (eg "He walked from home to home finding one with a 'foreclosure' notice on it??!!? You lyin' mofucker, I will destroy your bullshit for i am the arbiter of internet stories!!! NONE SHALL PASS!!!")

i insist on a photo being taken in the wine cellar because he stressed the fact that he happened to find an unopened wine bottle in it. and that he was sipping out of a glass of wine as he was typing. do you see the irony in that? why i want the photo taken in the wine cellar? HELLOOOOOOO!!! is anybody home in that empty fucking head of yours? i've already said it before, but i'm more then willing to say it again. you are a brown eye sucking fool. i'm lying? an arbiter of of internet stories. i'll bet $100.00 you collect comic books. you're a super hero now. super arbiter, here to root out all internet injustice.

like i've already said, it's clear that others see through this too based on the posts i've read. my hope is i can develop a ground swell movement. if i don't, i'll continue stopping by, it takes me all but a few minutes to catch up on the posts and type some shit out. no real sweat at all on my part. i'll do it myself, i'd like a photo, in the wine cellar, with him in a mask holding a sign that says "i told you so!" exactly what is the big deal? how is this going to expose his location? this should be the easiest thing to do regarding this entire event. and yes, i realize he doesn't have to do anything. in your eyes, he'd be just, in my eyes he'd tip his hand and i'd know what he's holding. show me a photo OP, and i'll never return to the thread.

Morning all. Finally decided to drop $40 on some new sheets for the empty weird king bed that was here when I got here, actually most of the furniture I use here was left here by the lass occupants. I do t have much stuff, and could be packed up and out of here in an hour or less. No e the less I did bring a 26 inch flat screen a ps3 and a laptop. Sadly the ps3 is
Broke, but I don't have Internet anyways, so it's use would have been Po
Limited anyways.

Like I mentioned before, I'm an old school member, and asked a mod to call me out if I was just some new jack bullshitter, who did confirm I was legit . I promise that I will upload pics and tons more info very soon. There are some interesting developments happening here, and soon it won't matter if I spill the beans or not. Just be patient, and I'll let y'all know for sure this place is legit.

Well, considering, the OP would have to go find a wine cellar to go to, take a picture that isn't obviously photoshopped, and post it a few minutes after being told what to write on the paper, well, that'd be better than what we have been given. Which is nothing, and even if it was, why does anyone care LOL. What is epic about breaking and entering and moving in to some mansion? Not like you own the place or have any rights to it - living in constant fear probably isn't so cool, and if this was real, might be why this person is moving out.

So,

Let me tell you kids how this all ended up ending.......
The bank owning the house offered me something called cash for keys. Basically, here is a check for a few grand, now get the fuck out, and don't steal the copper or wreck the place.... They offered a few grand to me, to abide by these terms and sign this paper work, etc.....

Now all of this was going through a middleman, a realtor who ws supposed to get the listing. Now this guy had been lying to me left and ring about things, and I had never seen any evidence of a check, although, I had seen and signed some paperwork on the place.

It came down to them demanding that I fix some things, costing a few hundred bucks, before I could get the check and do the exchange of the house for the cash.... I thought it was the biggest amout of bullshit I had ever heard. I went to a lawyer who agreed.... And so did most of my friends.....

But after some consideration, I said fuck it, spent the cash out of my own pocket to get the shit fixed, and set up the move out meeting.......

So, I went there.... And it all wet down as planned. Gave them the keys, got a check (the relator setting the thing up actually got a check over 2x as large as mine, which is why he was motivated to offer me cash to move out, and why he was lying to me on little details to get the Jo done, to get his cash) I went to the bank, and got it all in cash the next morning...

So in essence, what I did was take a house hostage, and without even having to show a lease, or ask for money, the greed of the relator, and the logical self preservation of the banks wanting to preserve their assets put a process into motion that got me paid.....

As funny a this will sound, I always thought the process might go a little like this. And I was glad it did.

1. Steal house
2. Move in, turn on power, live there
3. .............
4. Profit

ill bring a copy of the check to a gathering sometime

i think its funny that so many people would take the time to completely discount what i have said as complete b.s. when it all really just makes perfect sense.

also, for those of you that really hate the banks, and are fans of the occupy movement.... this is a near perfect way to strike back at them. Bleed them, like they bled the american people of their economy through BS securities.

Honestly, shit...

If the property belongs to the bank, can't they just call the cops on you for trespassing/breaking and entering? Why the fuck do they have to pay YOU to get the fuck out of THEIR house?  :what:

because, tenants have rights, and even if its not your place, and youre not supposed to be there, they still have to evict you through a legal process.
all you have to do is have a utility bill or two in your name, or be recieving mail there.

How the fuck are you a tenant if you just broke into their house without permission?  Doesn't there have to be some sort of agreement between a prospective tenant and a homeowner before one becomes a bona fide tenant?

You did a B&E on property that wasn't yours. Receiving mail there or having a utility bill doesn't change the fact that the property isn't and never was yours.

:lolsy:

All they have to/had to do was prove that you don't have a signed agreement there and then kick you out and arrest you.

And they obviously failed to do that.

Obviously? It's a dude on the internet (and on an anonymous forum no less) claiming this. That hardly makes the story factual.

I don't know, I guess anything is possible. But I would just never believe this unless I actually knew OP and saw his ass living in this previously empty mansion of his. Beyond that, I call bullshit.

And then to toss in that they had to PAY HIM to make him leave a home that he broke into...that just takes the cake.

Lulz yeah don't try this...if this is even real it's probably the only time it works and it will most likely not work in your state.

Each state has different laws regarding tenants, but pretty much all of them arrest or kick out squatters.
