Help with Chakra balancing

I have been reading about Chakra meditation, but have become confused. Most of the articles I've read are conflicting, or want me to buy a CD 'to find out more.'
From what i can gather, the whole process is to 'ground' your energy.
So i have given this a few attempts, i find that i can get very strong vibrations in the crown, forehead, throat and upper chest regions. The other 3 areas dont seem to respond as well.
So what exactly am i supposed to be doing here? Do i want to increase or decrease the vibrations in each area, should they all be at the same frequency, do i have to push energy through each Chakra?
Also, at one point there was a very strong feeling of being pushed by something, it was like being shoved really hard from the side. I always listen to music, but after a while i stop hearing it, it just helps me focus. Session usually lasts abou 40-60 minutes, 1-2 times per day, which i have been doing for about 6 weeks.
Also when i wake up the next day, i often have random pains, such as stomach ache or pains in the lower back or heart area. Nothing serious, but noticeable.
So how do i progress from here? Could i have blocked Chakras?

The idea is to use the mantra associated with each chakra and gain as much knowledge about each chakra as you can to cleanse it. Thats all I needed to know and the rest was using intuition, because after all thats what we are dealing with here, spirit. Intuition is a function of the spirit.
So use each mantra associated with each chakra and hum the chakra at the musical note associated with each chakra. I would give u links to sites with all this info but I dont know if its allowed.

Is the humming essential?
I struggle badly with depression, lack of energy, insomnia, irritability/lack of patience, could this be related to a Chakra problem? Can these problems be resolved through meditation?

Could be imbalances/negative energy in the channels. The subtle system also has a left right and center channel aside from the chakras.
For the stress problems put some ice in a bag and hold it to your liver for 10 min or so and then immediately dispose of the ice without using it for anything else.
For depression and lethargy that's left channel for sure. Take a lit candle and while sitting upright move it up your left side while making small clockwise circles the whole way up until you get to your forehead, then move it all the way across the right side of your head, then back and let it go straight down. Do that for as long as you feel like.
If you just want to meditate then take two candles, one behind your left side and one in front. Both hands should be palm up, with the left hand on top of and as close to the flame as tolerable.
All of these are more effective if you ask the divine for it to be.

When I started looking around for chakra literature, what I could put my hands on that stood nearest to what my body was doing to every single part of it as it was performing the maneuver was an otherwise obscure and unclear description of chakras being present in the body affecting the energy flow through it in a negative way as they lied ‘closed’ in it. And there was a certain unclear description of ‘opening’ these chakras, making it all more esoteric than scientific. But a certain similarity between what my body did and what the description of chakras said in an unclear way kept me stuck to the discipline.
7 chakras, as they are being presented in front of the world as an esoteric package, are far from common sense apprehension, what to say of their comprehension as a discipline to follow.
In my opinion, it is so because the ones who are presenting, or say, representing them through copying their attributes from the ancient scriptures are not able to impart them a concrete modern language that everyone would be able to appreciate and experience in one’s own body.
Scriptures only give their codes without explaining them in a clear and concise language. Anywhere you search about chakras, you are not going to get anything else but the codes, being copied from one to the other and from the other to another…
Who knows about them as a firsthand experience and not merely a secondhand information, and that too a coded one? I doubt if many people do!
Who has that sense of been there done that while enumerating the benefits of the 7 chakras in their presentations whether in action or in ink? Again I doubt if many people do.
What I am bothered about is bringing this fascinating discipline out of its esoteric blur into the clear light of the real scientific knowledge. The discipline is so fascinating that doing so will not only enhance its approach to the common people around but also expand the dimensions of the language that the scientific knowledge is using at the moment.

I agree with what you say. I also believe that chakras are, to some extent, metaphors for consciousness energy. This is why they are not fixed in every tradition.

" I will break down what the game offers.
There are 2 main branches to the game, Play and Reflect. Play's Movement section is broken down into 7 chakras each with seven levels. Each level adds a new element to play with. The movements you perform to control the visual game onscreen are exersises to help open your Chakras. (you will be rotating and bending hips, chest and sholders, and expanding your arms and pushing gently outward, depending on the level/chakra).
The 2nd section of Play is Sequence. Where you perform a series of Movements to open multiple chakras. The 3rd is Mandala in which you create a personal mandala image to help guide you back to meditation.
Reflect contains: Stilness, Oracle and Ambient
Stilness has 7 guided meditations with Deepak's voice and some visuals and music. Breath Practice has 7 different meditations that help you control your breathing with onscreen visuals that actually match your breath in your lower middle and upper torso. Finally 7 silent meditation lengths are available from 2 minutes to infinite. They also each offer 7 sound choices and no speech.
Oracle contains quotes from Deepak that arises after you've reflected on something.
Ambient lets you listen to the music in the game with backdrops from various parts of the game ."

i don't know much about chakra's but i do have a theory that i would like some feed back on.
my idea comes from the fact that many cultures situate the soul within the chest. this i think is evidence that mental processes are linked to specific parts of the head and abdomen somewhere in the brain. this makes some evolutionary sense because the head, abdomen and nerves system would have evolved first when we were slugs and may be linked in the same way that smell is better linked to memory than other senses because it evolved first in conjunction with the brain stem. another strange and perhaps related tendency in humans is that we all associate things that are higher (higher realms etc.) with more spiritual or universal and lower with non-spiritual or profane.
from my experience i only account for three chakra's, the head, chest and abdomen. i think that concentrating on one of these different parts causes different emotions and experiences. i've also come up with an alternate name for my three chakra system. i call them psychophysiological points of experience. the abdomen PPE imo is the seat of the libido or primal energy, the chest is the site of the material soul (i don't actually believe in an immaterial soul) or maybe some kind of different energy i'm not aware of and the head is the house of visions.
what do ya think guys and gals?

Old ass thread bump. Taking DeCypher's advice and looking into chakras.
Never really researched them.
Anybody have anything to discuss on what c0sm0nautt said?

I just learned yesterday at the Chiropractor (I just stared to have minor back problems), that many diseases linked to the organs originate in the spine, and then the energy in the spine (that comes from the head/brain) can't reach certain parts of the body via the nerves, due to subluxation in the back, dis-ease can occur. This was very interesting to me, because almost all Chakra traditions seem to focus on the energy centered in the spine as well, and running down through the body in the same manner.
To realize there was also a physical manifestation of this principal was really cool... I didn't realize the Spine was so essential to our organs and physical well being for EVERY part of our body.
As above, so below... or something deep and profound like that. xDDD

Diet and detoxing can make a BIG difference.
Most detoxing diet eliminates the rediculas amounts of carbs and sugar we eat. Like this diet: http://www.bulletproofexec.com/the-complete-illustrated-one-page-bulletproof-diet/
Unfortiatnly Most grains, wheat and normal potatoes have undigestable proteins and can cause your body to go in inflimation & defense mode. (This is 100 percent science)
Detox agents: Chrorella Spirulina Colon cleanse Oxygen (food grade hydrogen peroxide therapy) Vitamins (3000 mg vit c perday, Vit D, Vit E. and others) Kombucha (Aiming for maximum gluconic acid)
Liver flush (i never tried this one yet, gonna be fun to see what happens)
Enjoy
