Well havent been on here for a while, but it has been raining on and off lately and the shrooms are starting to pop up all over the place. Reminded me of the good bunch of people that I met over here, and shared many hunt pics with. Have already seen plenty of pans around and a few cubes while driving in my local haunts, so I will be off to my hidden fields soon! Will be sure to share with you guys again some pics. of the huge hauls like Ive had in the past. Fingers crossed!lol

Did you manage to find any mushrooms? I have looked a few times recently and found nothing, but once it rains again I'll give it another shot. Also does anyone know if mushrooms will still grow in areas that were affected by the floods?

Sorry didnt manage to get out there, I may have missed the ones from the last lot of rain. Had a quick stop by one of the fields today and it was bone dry. still have one of my good fields to check just hoping its had better rain. Weather is a strange thing, can have no rain where I live but 20 mins up the road can have plenty. Will report back.

Damn that is a shame. And I was serious about that flood question. Seriously has anyone managed to find any in areas that were flood affected? Or does anyone know if they will still grow there?

I haven't looked in any flood affected areas but I assume they will still grow, unless all the mycellium has been completely destroyed.

Yeah, hopefully it hasn't. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Hey Aussie members!!!! just moved over to the Gold Coast from NZ and real keen to find some of the good fungi, but i have no idea where or what to look for!! Can anyone give me an idea of areas to look to narrow it down, obviously not asking for your own spots or anything. Even better if someone might be willing to take me for a hunt, but don't expect that to be too likely i guess. Any help appreciated!!

Check out this guide. http://www.shroomery.org/11154/Noob-Psilocybe-cubensis-Identification Psilocybe Cubensis and Blue Meanies are what you are looking for. That video was pretty useful for me as well, I have never found any as easily as that guy though. Also how are everyone's hunts going?

Will get out next week for sure! Had a lot on with the other half going to dentist (wisdom teeth) As far as flood effected areas the fields round my area were under 5 foot of water during the floods but I did see shrooms while driving past after the last lot of rain. Just had some more rain the other night and looks to be more coming so hopefully it will all be good to go. I bought back some manure from one of my fields which was bone dry and threw it in my garden with some straw keeping it moist and now have myc growing. Just cant afford to waste the fuel running to different fields at the moment.

^ Damn, that's a good idea... might have to try that. I went for a hunt this morning but came up with nothing. Wasn't really surprised as this was my first time, but it looked a little dry - found some inactives in damper areas though.

I went for another look on Friday night, still haven't managed to find any this season, but the weather is definitely good enough. I'll try again after the next storm. How are the rest of you going?

Lucky bastards! No luck down here yet. Temps are up and perfect, just waiting on that rain! So impatient haha. Still another few weeks I think.

A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease.
