20 years ago in when I lived in Humboldt, people were usually shrooming by Halloween. That was a normal season, but I think it's been happening later in recent years all over. Even UK is barely getting started this year
we're lucky tho in California because it will just be later, instead of shorter, because we're not likely to get a hard freeze..at least near the coast
our peak in SF was traditionally Christmas, but now it seems more like January...example from last year

Yeah, it's weird, we don't have a large assortment of species, but what we do have, sure likes it here!

They look like cyans to me. I think that's the first time I heard of grass valley. That's basically the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains @ 2000ft
did a quick flyover on Google and you have plenty of areas to spread it around. Learn how to do spore slurry and spray..Simply handling fresh ones helps spread it too.
Looks like a good start at least for you up there. Although your season might be a little shorter than the BAY, only cause it'll freeze sooner
there should be more whenever this heatwave breaks and it starts raining again

The ice plant plantation is really taking off! I spent about 30 minutes out there just looking at the beauty and taking the pics. It was pretty cool!

Do Ps. cyanescens grow well near ice plants? Is there a certain species that you planted? Does a Succulent plant qualify for an ice plant? I would like to make an outdoor bed of cyans and was just wondering about some pointers, any help would be great.

Ice plant appears to be a known "host" environment for cyans.
I found this one, two years ago, quite by accident. I was simply walking home from the store one evening, looked down and saw a couple caps that were a colour I had never seen before in mushrooms. I picked them and posted here. A. Rockefeller confirmed cyans. I began looking closer and found that there was a patch about 8 feet by 15 feet that was packed with them. Oddly enough, I have miles of ice plant near my house, and only this one area have I found these cyans. It's also the only place where the ice plant has yellow flowers, all the other ice plant has purple flowers.
I've found cyans here now for the third year in a row, and it seems to really be growing gangbusters. The shrooms are much smaller than cyans which grow in wood chips, and (to me at least) more picturesque. They also appear earlier than the wood chip dwelling cyans (in my area at least). In about a month or so, a huge wood chip group will be popping up near this patch, but the mushrooms will look significantly more robust.
Choose ice plant that gets afternoon shade and is well watered. The mushroom mycelium appears to digest the previous years dead growth.

I don't think it's that, I believe it's CARPOBROTUS EDULIS (not sure why google thinks that needs to be capitalized).
The purple variant looks like this:

The yellow is a very soft yellow, not bright yellow.

I think the important thing is that it grows to be a really thick bed that grows fast and dies off every year, allowing new growth to cover the dead material.
That dead material remains under the new growth and creates a very rich growing medium for the mycelium.
I don't know if the yellow variant is an important issue or simply a coincidence, it just seems weird to me that the cyans only grow in the area where the ice plant has yellow flowers. Now that said, I haven't dissected the rest of the ice plant in my area, so I could be missing something.
