Fear and grief make people do some crazy mental gymnastics, and there is never a shortage to assholes looking to take advantage of it.

BAN! BAN! BAN!  Harsher laws, stiffer fines, longer jail/prison sentences, it doesn't work to well.  Watching a show about drugs and alcohol prohibition in the States back when they first made opium illegal, and then alcohol, but before they could do that they had to get past the fact that people interpreted the constitution as YOU having the right to put whatever you want into your body.

Shit happens, take some personal responsiblility  for your son Moma and quit blaming.

No, it would probably create a huge black market for stupidity.

The general rule I go by is that the body will eliminate 1 12oz beer worth of alcohol per hour.  It takes a lot more than 1 drink to reach .08 though, at least for my body (6'4", 200lbs).  One time I had 5 beers in 2 hours, and got pulled over on my way home.  The cop gave me a breathalyser cause my wasted friends were stinking up my car with their booze breath, and I passed with flying colors.  The cop even looked pissed as he walked back to his car and wouldn't tell me what I blew...

Anyways, this says it all

At this point, she can't prove what role the strong alcohol played in his death. Final autopsy results have not been determined yet by the Milwaukee County medical examiner, which ruled the death a drowning. Luanne was informed her son's blood-alcohol level was 0.26%, more than three times the legal limit for driving.

Idiot doesn't even really know how the alcohol contributed to his death (which really was a case of natural selection.  He died in a fucking kiddie 5 ft pool).

The mother should of been more concerned about this. If I found my friend laying in the fucking pool, I damn sure aint going to just pull him out and leave him their, I would be checking for vital signs and be telling the parents or calling 911.

:picard:

The only way you can't tell how potent a mixed drink is is if you have 1) no tongue OR 2) Cranial nerve damage. Either way it doesn't matter because it isn't much harder to kill yourself with Vodka than everclear.

Behold the fruits of our failing educational system. I'd be more focused on what would make him possibly think a 5 year loan for a car before you have finished college is a good idea.

Bottom line: he wanted to get drunk, he went too far, he died, he's a moron, it WAS his time.

This whole "crusade" is no more intelligible than banning high sugar drinks to prevent diabetes deaths. The culture of binge drinking which she failed to teach her son to challenge is probably more at fault than anything.

Not every 22 year old knows what rubbing alcohol smells like.

22 Nuff Said.

I would not like to see a "Don't mix with alcohol" Adult Advisory.  on the energy drinks.

How many will want to after reading "Don't".

Plus all those salts in the sports drink. Dehydrated perhaps.

I have a great deal of sympathy for her. I don't think bad of her because I totally understand. She's upset, greiving and in shock. She doesn't want to face the fact that her son is responsible for his death. She desperately needs something to blame. However, I WILL think very badly of the legislature if they decide that Everclear should be banned.

A greiving mom's misplaced blame is understandable but the lawmaker's misplaced blame is not.

fuck this shit!  i hate people that cannot own up to responsibility.

dear lady, your son was a dumb ass.  i am sorry for your loss, but he was a fucking idiot... its actually very plain.  a lot of people can be responsible with mind altering substances, however your adult son, could not.  there once was a man who had a theory about how the strong survive and lesser creatures(i.e. dumber/weaker) die out.  i think his name was darwin.  back to your idiot son, unless he shotgunned a gallon of that punch within a few minutes, he probably knew how strong it was.  he intentionally bought everclear, which on every bottle i've seen basically says "this is almost FUCKING gasoline!"

i wish i could collect all the "bucks" passed from people not wanting to own up to their own faults.  i would be rich enough to get passed an initiative to "ban stupidity"

u think posting her shit here is going to help at all? next news article will read "dead sons mother harrassed by drug site" or drug users/alcoholics ect.  she's going to read the hate mail and either kill herself or get pissed and talk even more shit, end result nothing changed for the better.

the problem isn't this women, the problem is the people who listen to her and enable her.

A 22 year old should be more responsible.

Natural selection. This world isn't meant to be kind to morons.

Sorry if that's harsh, but that's nature.
