I was thinking cacao at first but the fruits are too smooth and the leaves too small for any cacao I can find.


Here's the current pic again so I don't have to keep flipping pages.

Those leaves are Palmate, and you guys have prolly seen a close relative in Chinese restaurants ornamentally thats a pretty big hint.

Beefy, those are the red cacao fruits. There's a yellow variety too that's not quite so shiny. They have a resemblance to the pic posted but it's pretty easy to tell them apart.

Looks like purple loosestrife to me.  I spent three months one summer pulling that stuff out of lakes in northern WI. 

The flowers don't usually look that good.

I've decided to make a new rule to the Guess the Plant thread...

You have 12 hours after the last plant's poster confirms your guess is correct to post another pic. If it has been 12+ hours, the first person to call the foul gets to post the next plant.

Edited the Original Post to include this rule.
