I was thinking cacao at first but the fruits are too smooth and the leaves too small for any cacao I can find.

Those leaves are Palmate, and you guys have prolly seen a close relative in Chinese restaurants ornamentally thats a pretty big hint.

Looks like purple loosestrife to me. I spent three months one summer pulling that stuff out of lakes in northern WI.
The flowers don't usually look that good.
