EPHEDRA REVOLUTION: 3333 Ephedra sinica seeds for 100 Shroomery members
The Paradox of asking a Masked Man who he is.
I am vVv, call me V, and I have come to unleash a series of exciting revolutions upon the Shroomery, making 2011 a year that will never be forgot. I will be doing a series of large scale ethnobotanical seeds giveaways, completely for free, to Shroomery members interested in cultivating these sacred, and exciting, psychoactive plants before something unfortunate might happen to free flow of these seeds.
I'm a puppet account of a well known Shroomery member who doesn't wish to be associated with such ethnobotanical generosity, and I have explicitly been approved by the Administrators of this website as being allowed, endorsed and trusted to do the large scale giveaways to the Shroomery community. Who I am is not important, I won't feed such speculations as I chose to be anonymous. What is important is that the Administrators trust me enough to not just allow me this generosity, but to actively endorse it.
I don't mean harm on anyone, and wouldn't be spending hundreds of dollars on this community I love, if I would. This is my gift to you, and to the ethnobotanical plants that helped me so much over the years.
How does it work?
From the people who show their interest in this thread, I will select up to 20 members. These members need to stand out to me positively. Longterm members, Moderators, members with many trade ratings, members who stand out positively in the forums they post in and people who live in the Plant Hardiness Zone where the ethnobotanical can grow outdoors will have an advantage over newbies and those who haven't profiled themselves as active contributors to this website.
Of these 20 members, my trusted, I will ask that they each actively seek four (or more) other Shroomery members to trade some of their seeds with. Twenty and eighty makes a hundred Shroomerites served. My trusted 20 can keep half the seeds they received, and can give away, trade or otherwise distribute the seeds to other Shroomery members. If 100 cannot be found, supplying seeds to other friends online or off is fine. Trade ratings will show the progress they made.
THE PLANT OF THE MONTH
Ephedra sinica is a small, low, inconspicuous plant that can be grown outdoors in Plant Hardiness Zone 6 or higher and also indoors, in containers preferably of one quart or larger.
Once germinated, the plant grows robustlly, as a sub-shrub typically growing wider than tall, producinng many small twigs, which can be made cuttings of, and which also forms berries containing seed.
Generally the small twigs and foliage trimmings are dried, cut up, and a psychoactive tea made from one or two teaspoons of the herb is quite envigorating, both for people suffering from the common cold, as those who need extra performance in study, wakefulness or physical activity. In addition to that it can aid in weight loss and has its uses in asthma, when conventional medicine is not available for some reason.
This is a plant which you can grow in your garden or windowsill which you can trim as needed, and your trimmings are the active part. Ma Huang needs as much sun as it can get, but as you saw by Hardiness Zone 6 or higher - most Shroomerites live in places where it can grow out of doors. It can be grown in normal gardening/potting soil, and fertilized with the common biological or chemical fertilizer options.
Unfortunately I cannot send these seeds to Australia, as their import laws explicitly prohibit importation of seeds of the genus Ephedra.
Many other countries have laws against the herb or its alkaloids, but the seeds, which contain no ephedrine or pseudopephedrine, are legal.
Ephedra Sinica, or "Ma Huang" as its known for many hundreds of years in China is an ageold medicinal herb. It actually works, which means it has very real side effects and should not be taken without thorough study of the plant and its active alkaloids.

Getting more than the picture
Ephedra sinica seeds are often sold by the half or whole dozen. I will be giving away for free approx. 3333 seeds to 20 Shroomery members, that's about 167 seeds for each (give or take weigh error). Of those 167 seeds, I expect them to keep half at most, and split the other half in at least 4 portions of about 75 seeds each, and those 4 portions should be given or traded with other Shroomery members, and when not available, offline and online friends from elsewhere. If you can give away more seeds, all the better. 10 seeds is all one needs as the plant can be propagated by cuttings and produces lots of seed, so if you want to spread it to more people, all the better, it will make the Ephedra Revolution an even greater success.
If you want about approx 167 seeds and PROMISE to share/trade with 4 other members, post in this thread, stating that you want them, that you will spread the seeds to other members and in which Plant Hardiness Zone you live.
I can give seeds, for free, to up to 20 members.

Again, I'm in Plant Hardiness Zone 8 (almost 9) and would love to give these guys a shot.And, as I garden in containers, I would definitely be re-distributing most of the seeds. I appreciate this project that you've taken on, and enjoy the V for Vendetta reference.
