My weed making me itchy?

This is the first time it's happened. Not upon smoking it, but handling it.. breaking it up.

I thought it was in my head, or I had just gotten into something else, but this is the 3rd day in a row that I'll be breaking it up, then I'll touch my arm or face and it'll get super, super itchy.

What's going on?

Does it smell/taste funny at all? My best guess is something that was sprayed on during growing, assuming it isn't your imagination.

maybe your having a minor skin reaction to the weed or THC when it makes contact your skin? It happens with the grass on your front lawn so I'm assuming it can happen with weed.

I would recommend not touching your skin and face while your chopping up weed, I've gotten really bad itchy eyes quite a few times from doing the same thing and rubbing my eye half way through.

What you don't see is your fingertips are covered in tiny THC Xtals, I'd say thats the problem.
Chop your weed and then wash your hands, see if that helps.

Sounds like your having some kind of histamine reaction to the weed.

I used to work with cars daily, getting covered in oil and grease. Never had any problems. One day after doing some work I broke out in full body hives. After that every time I got some oil on my skin I'd get instant hives. Apparently my immune system had developed an immunity to the oil and was attacking it with histamine (itchy chemical).

I don't do much work with cars anymore and I no longer get hives when I touch oil so I guess that immunity has faded with time.

Probably best to avoid touching the weed to your skin for a while.

If weed made me itchy if I touched it, I'd be worried about what could happen if I smoked it.

Pollen on the herb, allergic reaction to pollen probably, warm water and soap and not itching cures it right?

That's really odd! Maybe try getting some from a different source and see if you react to that too? If you don't get a reaction from the second, it must have been something used while growing.
