 Shroomery Meetup?

Hey guys, me and my roommate are both headed to the festival (thanks for the discount on tickets, btw, Shroomfesters!) and I figured it'd be cool to get all us Shroomery kids together. I know not all of you are totally into that idea since you're presumably trying to keep a low profile on the forum, but I figured someone might be down for a dinner or to go take over a bar on one of the nights of the festival. Hell, even if the bars close, I'm sure we can throw a hell of a party somewhere, right?
Now, I'm not just talking "Let's hang out at the festival together." I mean let's throw some sort of impromptu Shroomery event. Let's hang out together, knock back beer and make everyone go "Wow, those Shroomery guys know how to have a good time, don't they?" Anyone? Anyone?

I was actually thinkin the same thing, we could all gather at one of the camp grounds and throw a huge party one night. We wouldn't have to worry about being exposed since we could open it up to everyone there so no one will know your from the shroomery.

So we be smart about it. No actives on you, no drugs of any kind, and any drug use gets taken to respective hotel rooms/campsites. We should be trying to do that anyways, right? I know it's a festival, but I get the idea this isn't a giant hippy convention where everyone is gonna be down with what kind of stuff we do.
I don't grow actives anymore either, so really that's my motivation. To meet other gourmet cultivators and exchange and share information and socialize. Something tells me the DEA has better things to do than arrest a bunch of 20-30 somethings (I'm assuming ages here) for growing shrooms in their closet, hundreds of miles from where we'll be at.
Then again, it IS the DEA, so better keep clean if we meetup, or at least take it somewhere safe. I know we're gonna wanna go off and smoke at some point, I'm sure they're not gonna make a big deal about it, but surely if we keep tripping/drug talk to a minimum (hard for some, I know) then I doubt we're going to be rounded up and interrogated for having a few beers.
There's no law against gathering in public places to discuss our hobbies, if we start thinking that, then the terrorists have won.

I hear you man there is nothing wrong with meeting someone at a bar for some drinks... But I gotta admit I am getting a little nervous talking about meeting up with the guy with a gun... sounds more like a stick up than a raid to me... but just know I like guns too... LOL

LOL, you know, you're not the first. At an old mountain biking forum I used to frequent, they actually asked me to change it because they thought I was making a violent reference. It's really just an Army of Darkness reference: Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun. Between my love for all things Bruce Campbell and my old job selling guns at a retail outlet, I just kept using it, although I've been wanting to change it to JakeRidesAgain, which I always found much classier, haha.
If you guys are worried about me being LEO, I'll let you check out my Facebook, but I promises you I'm not gonna rob you or arrest you, and trust I'll get the same courtesy. I do think that it's a good idea to keep our noses clean while hanging out and sharing info, whatever, but once we get a good place to really party, I'm sure we can get away with plenty as long as we don't piss everyone else off.

Well I doubt it's as big a risk as you guys are fearing. There is no worry from the local PD as long as you keep to yourself and don't make a scene since drugs are the local PD's lowest priority. Watch the video know your mushrooms which was filmed during the festival. At one part of the video it highlights two obvious deadheads eating mushrooms on main street in town as a cop drives by to snag a speeder.

PM people on the Shroomery whom you trust with a password for the meetup. IF someone claims to be apart of the meetup, they will know the password. Unless LEO has been a member of the boards and gained everyone's trust waiting for this to happen. then you're all fucked.

No bro we dont need no passwords... Im just planning on meeting up with some fellas i met on the interwebs for a damn drink... and by the way we are getting closer to the date so Im really getting excited! Been looking at what I wanna do while im there... and things along the way to telluride... it is a long ass way for me to be going, so Im thinking of maybe staying a night somewhere in between here and there. Im trying to find somewhere cool along my route...

Everyone from Shroomfest is really looking forward to meeting everyone in person! One of our staff was in NYC talking with Gary Lincoff and he's very excited to see Shroomery and just as excited to see all of you there  When you see him be sure to invite him to the meetup!

I just signed up. Been a lurker on here for awhile though. Hopefully that doesn't make me sketchy, but I am pretty sure we don't have much to worry about down in Telluride. My girlfriend and I are going to the festival this year. I was thinking about throwing a party at the Alta Lakes campground. Anyone interested?

Oh dude we have to meet up. I'm flying into Denver about ten days before the festival then I'm driving down with a buddy. We gotta arrange some place to meet...any ideas when and how? Or maybe just hold a big sign that says..."Shroomerites Unite!"

I gotta say man Durango is nowhere near denver and you would have to pass T-ride to get there... Just Saying... Although I could go that route I would add at least another 2 hours on my trip...
Any way I noticed a decent looking bar (or at least best website I found) called the Last Dollar Saloon. I dont know if any local T-Riders can chime in with anything else but this seemed like an alright looking bar to me. I have a shroomery T-Shirt I got from the Swag Store here I am thinking ill prob wear that on the night we try and meet up.
I am for sure going (already got my admission paid to the conference, working out my place to stay prob before next weekend) and def wouldnt mind meeting a few shroomerites so lets try to get a plan together...
