Fred is really cool I paid a fair bit for this one but I had to have it because of its cresting form and its a nice size I am still hunting down a normal one as well.
I have a area set aside for a lot of my Trich's and hopefully I will have it ready for them in spring and the fun will start as I will need to move them about 30 meters and then get them out of their pots and into the ground. The pach and the pach crosses wont be to bad but I am not looking forward to moving the big peruviun's and bridgesii
Cheers Got

i re-potted this guy. thought i would share a pic of some roots thrown out from this pachanoi. this cutting is from a group of several i had before giving most away. i kept it because it had more robust spines, compared to the others i had come across.
it was in hibernation for about 16 mos. anyways probably the best feature pachanoi has to offer - super fast growing

I literally screamed out Fred when I seen your post, they're pretty rad. Also those Trichocereus of yours are obscene, in a good way.

Thought I recognised this, but not the name. Synonym: Lobivia famatimensis I started some from seed this winter, the flowers are fantastic.

I never know what name to use as there are so many cacti with at least two synonym's. I though I read some ware in one of your posts that you had put some down. To me this cacti has it all. Amazing rib and spine pattens plus the color and then you get the stunning flowers. To me thats a full house

The oldest name, that was fully described, will usually take precedence.
I noticed today that a few of these are coming into bud. 26 months from seed, still a little over 1cm in diameter. These are cleistogamous flowers, so there may not be too much more to see.

Cool thanks Mostly I have never used cactuspedia to search for plants I have just found the pages via google but this is much easier. I have bought a number of Gymnocalycium recently and the Aztekium Ritteri I probably paid to much for but you dont see them very often so I just put in a high bid and one it ( ebay )

A freshly grafted sulcorebutia rauschii pup to myrtillocactus. I don't like anything to go to waste, so I grafted a peyote seedling onto the rebutia pup stump.
