I love tabasco. Let us know how it tastes when you get it. Hopefully that $24 isn't just for the wax crown, fancy label and gold chain.

The Tabasco brand is partly lactic acid fermentation, some of the kim chi and sauerkrauts I've made gets better after sitting in the fridge for a year. The improved taste is, I think, from changes in some of the sulphur compound flavors of the onions and garlic. 8 years? do they give any explanation of what kinds of changes in flavor changes you'd could expect?

they said nothing on taste, but it's made using hand picked prime peppers and aged in white oak barrel for at least 8 years. I'm sure the price reflects the added labor and time to make it. I'll post reviews once it comes in.

Came in yesterday. Noticeably darker and thicker than regular tabasco, also since they use a different type of vinegar, it's a little more sour than normal, but you can tell the aging difference in the flavor of the peppers is more mellow and deep, a little ancho-y and actually not as spicy, also it's a bigger bottle not the standard size that everyone here probably thought.
not a hot sauce guy at all but I've found myself putting it on everything lately.

I do believe that is why he called it "a fruitshake".

you would really have to taste it back to back to appreciate it, I'm sure the avid Tabasco fan would pick it up right away, but the average palette won't likely take it as anything special.

Seriously, I'm with you. My home is not complete without a big-ass bottle of Tapatio on the back of the stove. Eggs, pizza, anything. Delicious stuff, sometimes I just put it on plain tortillas and eat them. They make Tapatio flavored fritos now too, but they aren't nearly as good.

that sounds epic, I'm a huge tobasco fan I really enjoy alot of their products, and as you say I find myself putting it in lots of things including chocolate milk. this reserve sounds fascinating and I may have to try it. can you buy it in bigger bottles?

I'm not sure they come in other sized bottles, this isn't the tiny slim bottles your used to in restaurants it's the more substantial 5 oz bottle.

Fruitshake, really? Can't you even act mature in Culinary Arts zappa? Keep up the fruit and other offtopic innuendo and you might get some ban time to bitch at.
