They have been out in your area for at least a month.

Man OP, I wish you well. I'm in the champaign/urbana area of Ill and they are about over here. I hope that you are north in ind.
At any rate, I would encourage you to look in the heavier undergrowth. Around the bluebells, may apples and :omgz:

even the thorn bushes.
I'm no authority on finding them but it's been a deliciously good year for morels.
I would also say to look in the lower lying areas that are flood plains or 'bottoms'.
My guess is that there are some monster yellows out there for your culinary enjoyment.

Found these earlier today in central Indiana

Saw several spots that had already been plundered :mad:

They're trying to hide now that the undergrowth is getting thick but they're out there.
