Slacklining
    #14261946 - 04/09/11 08:14 AM (2 years, 1 month ago)

A friend of mine lent me one and it's pretty addicting. The learning curve got me pissed off so I just kept on trying until I succeeded. Took me a couple of hours. Tho it wasn't that long (~4.5m/~12feet).
Anyone else here liking to balance on stuff?

I just started recently, so much fun!  Have done it about 6 times, maybe 3 hours each time now.  Just got my own slackline on Thursday.  I made it across and back halfway on about 10m line today, which was awesome.  Also I have gotten the jump start.  Still need to work on my turn around though.

So relaxing, so much fun.  Meet tons of people in the park, its so awesome.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

I really want to get one of these but I feel like they are kind of expensive.

Hells Yeah!  Also got the squat and turn around very well yesterday.  I went climbing for my first time today too.  I love this shit.

And my $130 line was worth every penny.

I can get one for 60$. It's fair IMO.

Haha, I've been climbing for a few years now. I love it.

Bump cause I'm loving this stuff.
I've done it probably like 5 times or so, each for a few hours.

I can get down and back now (only done it twice) and now we're trying stuff involving jumps, like jumping onto the line, bouncing steps on the line, and a few attempts at butt-bouncing.

I'm surely going to get one soon, but I haven't decided what kind.

For my birthday this year I got a harness and basic top ropping setup... a few of my friends and I are looking to make our way to trad climbing, but our problem is we don't live near really anything for climbing so getting gear and what not is a problem... Out in the national forest about 45 min away from my town there are some SWEET boulders and we always go camping out there..

but 2 days after getting all my gear my buddy and I happen to find some boulders after meeting a guy for some shrooms anyway long story short we got out there with a chalk bag and climbing shoes and I ended up fracturing my ankle on a 15ft fall... Lucky I didn't hit my head or anything.. I need a crash pad thats for sure!!
