Employees at a Sport Clips in Minneapolis received a package they assumed was shampoo or hair care supplies, but when they opened it up they found 20 pounds of marijuana that was delivered to the wrong address.
The employees called police who hatched a plan to catch the intended recipient.
According to police, the real address was a mail-drop rented to Jatuan Griffin. UPS called Griffin to say her package arrived. Police waited, and when Jonathon Middleton came to pick up two boxes he and Griffin were arrested.
The employees say police told them the marijuana was worth about $90,000.

You never go pick up a package. You always have it delivered to you without signature confirmation.
Unless for some reason you, ya know, want to go to prison.

It doesn't matter if the package is in your name or not, the postman will deliver it.
It doesn't matter if your package has signature confirm or not, the postman will deliver it.
There is no security bonus with signature confirmation for this scenario as there would be for say receiving a box full of silver coins. If your box of silver coins "arrived" but you never signed for it, the company owes you a new box of coins.
If your box of illegals "arrived" and you never signed for it, that means that the package got snatched. If it arrives with signature confirm and you specifically made sure that it would NOT arrive with signature confirm the package is a 100% cop set-up.
Getting rid of signature confirm gives you at least a chance of ascertaining whether or not a package has been intercepted by authorities.
It's still possible they could not snatch it, not add signature confirm and still deliver it. In that case they'd deliver it to you, wait for you to go inside, wait for about 30 mins to 1 hr and then break into your house hoping to find a bunch of drugs all over your table. Or of course they wait for you to leave the house, assuming that you are attempting to move the weight.

So I wonder if the guy accidentaly wrote the wrong address on the package, or if the address on the package was right but UPS fucked up and delivered it to the wrong place?
