Dying Giant of a San Pedro at Tucson Botanical Garden
    #14150069 - 03/19/11 09:03 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

This looks like a very old San Pedro.  It looks like its needs water badly.  All the pictures are from different angles of the same plant.

There were a lot of neglected and dead plants in that place.  It was depressing.  Check out these Peruvian Torches, they are begging for water.  I am sure these PVs are years old and if they were regularly watered they'd be huge.

The larger specimen doesn't look like a Trichocereus to my eyes. It looks much like Myrtillocactus especially the spines.

Good call Naum.  I did a search for Myrtillocactus and found this!

Those were better days!

I don't think it's neglect.  I think it's that this winter was fucking harsh.

Nah, I don't think they are watering their plants enough.  Those peruvian torches need water.

Looks like someone turned off the irrigation.

Either that or what Harvey says. I've seen the seasons change down here over the last 2 decades and what used to grow in some places without much help can't be grown there now, even with help.
