I am looking for some jacketed hollowpoints for a .25 auto.
I know they make them but I'm not familiar with quality brands of handgun ammo, so I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks.

CCI is suppose to have pretty good .25 ammunition.
Basically any high volocity hollow point will work though...

I was firing bottom self winchester target rounds two weeks ago, my weapon seems to be fairly inaccurate, which I would expect from a two inch barrel, but these bullets stiil would penetrate a two by four.

A .25 is not what it's cracked up to be. Saw someone get shot in the hand and the bullet deflected of the bone and exited his finger tip, kinda cool, but not very practical in self defense terms. The accuracy on them is horrible past about 20' as well, but it'd be a fun squirrel gun
CCI is good ammo, but the best thing to do is shoot different brands til you find one that works well, kinda like patterning a shotgun. I've shot everything from federal to finocci from my shotgun and the cheap ass Winchester shells shoot the best. Good luck in finding a round that works for you.

The best gun for self-defense is the one you have with you when you're attacked. If the size of a .25 means that OP is more likely to have it on him all the time, then it's better than a .45 that he rarely carries. Just remember, more people are killed by .22s than any other caliber... If a .22 can do the job, so can a .25. It's all about shot placement.

True (with some exceptions) but the casing on a .25 isn't the same as a .22, and it's power is different. A gun is still a gun and all guns are lethal in the right or wrong hands for sure.
The main thing with any gun, whether it be for self defense, target, or hunting, is matching the ammo to your gun and your needs. I wouldn't take a 30-06 out to shoot rabbits with a 250gr bullet any sooner than I would take a .22 out moose hunting.

I would NOT use .25 hollowpoints. It may have problems with penetration depending on what type of clothing the person is wearing and how hot the round is loaded. If you want to stick with .25 then try round nose soft lead instead of hollow or FMJ. You will still get better penetration and the soft lead will mushroom somewhat. Best of both worlds IMO. Also, if you have a .25 made by one of the "ring of fire" companies like, Raven, Phoenix Arms, etc. these are junk guns and I would not stake my life on one. A friend had a new Raven .25 and it broke the first time he took it to the range LOL. If you have something well made like a Colt vest pocket pistol, Baby Browning or a Mauser you are good to go!

Mine is a bauer, which is a stainless steel copy of the baby browning. It only jams very rarely. and I would like to think that if I start shooting the other person would not stick around to see how many shots I get off.
