I need cakes to colonize faster

I've got family in my home town waiting on me to come visit, but I promised we would trip so I plan on bringing quite a bit of shrooms back. And they are pressuring me to quicken the pace.
Strains: B+ and Malabar and possibly some creeper
Right now the jars are just sitting on and around my heater vent in my bathroom with the lights off, they are BRF cakes.
And yes I used search engine but the questions were not for BRF cakes.
I may just have to wait the full time but what does it hurt to type up a quick thread and see if there is anything I can do to make this go faster.

Heater vent is slowing you down, put them on a shelf. And really, there's nothing you can do but wait faster.

No. Raising the temperature to ~80*F makes it a bit quicker, also raises the chance of contamination. Patience is mandatory in this hobby. No need for darkness, mycelium doesn't mind light.

It gets way to hot in my house if I raise temp. to 80 I sweat my ballsack off. Can I put it on a seedling heat mat and raise it to 80 that way? And thank you for the help.

Room temp is fine, no need to go beyond 70.

Brf cakes take alot of time to colonize. Hopefully you have a good fruiting chamber to produce the right amount of Rh, and Fae.
Try make a liquid culture to innoc rather then Multi spore. Then swith to grains..
But what I would do to make this batch happen asap, with a good amount of fruits, would be to spawn you bags to Eatu lazy mofo bag tek So one cake is now 5 cakes. Then I would take 3 lazy mofo bags. And spawn to a bulk substrate, and put it in a monotub
It worked out for my monotub.
Remove them from the heater. Damn and I thought I was the first post lol I guess southpark distracted me.

I know how you feel man, especially if it's your first grow, but you will have to try to forget about them for two or three weeks. As EM said, you can't rush nature, if you do, usually something very bad happens.

Smoked: Here is a time line I posted earlier for someone asking about the time involved in cultivating from BRF cakes. I feel is its pretty accurate:
Spore germination: 7-14 days Colonization of substrate: 2-4 weeks Consolidating cakes: 1 week Time it takes to start producing first flush: 1 week Being patient and enjoying the fruits of your labor: Priceless

Its a regular tub from Wally world and all the stuff I've read says perilite is all I need for humidity and misting. I hope it all works out, I just want 1 shroom so I can at least make a spore print and not have to buy offline again. But next time I am not going to use BRF if they take longer than others.
Thanks for the help and if everything works out I will post what you guys call shroom porn. Thanx alot for that time line.

Cakes are faster then any other method, from needle to harvest.

^^ Yup. With grains it's ~7 days for germination, ~2 - 3 weeks for grain colonization, then another week or two for bulk substrate.

IMO you do not start shaving off time until you get into making liquid cultures, start working with agar, or get grain to grain transfers down.
Rye Grain Spawn: Spore germination: 7-14 days Colonization of rye: 2-4 weeks Spawning to bulk substrate:7-10 days till full colonization Time it takes to start producing fruits: 7-10 days
Grain spawn from MS takes as much if not more time then BRF cakes IMO.

^^^ I wasnt saying they weren't. But most newer cultivators aren't all going directly to the lc route.
Lc & grains just produce better fruits. What I was simply saying is Lc>Grains is fasters then MS>BRF. Ime

Yoda- "The boy has no patience!"
Ben Kanobi- "He will learn patience."
GungGung- "Or he will get no mush and see his cakes go to the dark side! Yoda, wanna go burn a spliff in your gnarly little hut?"
Yoda- "Twisted i am. When 900 years old you reach, smoke so much, you will not,
hmmmmmmmmm?"
Good Luck man, wait it out, don't let your friends pressure you to produce for them, these things are the finest gift you could ever give to another person, next to a massage while tripping.
Next time, if you want things to go as fast as possible, make a Liquid Culture to use as inoculant, or switch to GRAIN and do
Grain to Grain Transfers. Both are easily twice as fast as multispore.
My preference is to inoculate with an agar wedge, then use the agar inoculated jar for G2G transfers, so that i KNOW that my inoculant is clean and uncontaminated. Grain LC is also a great option for fast colonization. You can make this with one of your cakes once it is fully colonized, so if you haven't already, get a PC and a big bag o' WBS or rye, soak it in water with a couple cups of coffee and a pinch of gypsum, rinse well, drain well, PC for an hour, cool, and 'noc' it up with that Grain LC. Jars should colonize in under 2 weeks, and you could realistically be producing monster flushes in as little as 2 weeks after full colonization of spawn jars.
I hope at least some of this is useful, and sorry about the intro, couldn't help myself.
Peace ~GG

Finished LC is faster than starting from spores. Growing LC from spores is not faster than growing cakes from spores.
Next time, don't run your mouth. If there's mushrooms, fine. If not, fine.
