I'm thinking possibly Agrocybe but it's a shot in the dark.

Agrocybe seems quite possible.  its got the cap veil and lighter gills to match.

Different Agaricus in different stages of maturity will dry with different color gills. The gills in the second photo look extremely free, making me think Agaricus, but what the hell do I know? Dried mushrooms with little info can be tough.

Yes. Take a clear close up (macro mode) in bright light where the gills meet the stem. They're probably not magic if that's what you were wondering.

alright ima post up my pics of what i see on my gyms - ill post up the couple  luteofolius pics i got too notice the kinda big gap wher the gills meet the stem

now some other gym pics these are smaller younger big gyms - notice how the gills narrow down towards the stem - then when the stem dries - it can look even more like REALLY free gills

look at the luteus here IN BACK - its gills also narrow down towards the stem considerably - when dry - the gap can get much larger

and look at the big front n center BLG in my sig pic here - same kinda scenario

wish the OP would say how he aquired them!!!!

i don't have many pics of dried ones uploaded - arrgg - but see in this one how the BRIGHT YELLOW luteus bruise as they were cut n dried - --  gyms can hide the majik VERY WELL
purples, reds, and magenta's are also keys to active gyms

and see - he was gifted them by a "friend" - there lays the possibility his friend is actually a good guy - and gave him some gym luteofolius -

- one other thing to note - the gyms in general are NOT all that potent - it takes around a good 15gr dry to notice substancial gym effects -

im not 4sure just saying gyms - but his specimens look really alot like classic gyms to me!!!!

i agree, that looks a lot like a dried gym to me, especially if they were a gift from a friend. what i've noticed about gym gills is right as they are about to meet the stem they swoop downward and look sort of like a half pipe from the side, but they still attach to the stem.
