So I can only identify a few kinds of shrooms and decided it would be a good idea to pick a few random-ish ones i thought might have the potential to be hallucinogenic...edible would be ok... but not preferable. Here are the pictures of the several varieties of shrooms i picked. By IDing these for me i will be much more well equipped to ID in the future, and i will know some that are hallucinogenic or poisonous.

these last two are done with flash

I believe that the four on the right and the one third from the right (short one) i found in some dirt in a park covered with pine needles. The others i found a few blocks away under some shrubbery where the grass wasn't as dense. Many of the ones i found were kinda dry, especially the blackish one i found by the shrub. I thought they could be cyanescens, or something else. There is such a variety and the conical shroom could be something i think..? i forget the name. the blackish one may be impossible to ID -- looked like a cyan tho. The stems on may of the others were far too thick to be cyans though.
Found in San Francisco. (note the picks go from left to right along the line of shroomz)

Your approach is wrong. If you pick random ones, you'll find random ones. There are probably thousands of different species in your area and a lot of them'll be more common than cyans.
You want to be looking in urban woodchip beds a few days after heavy rainfall, in late autumn and winter.
That's the habitat.
The next thing is the mushroom itself. Find out things like, cap colour and texture, stem colour and texture, gill colour, are gills attached to stem, is there a partial veil, is there a bulb at the stem base, what shape is the cap, is the stem hollow, what colour are the spores...
You really need to familiarise yourself with the features of the species you're hunting before you go out. Looking up loads and loads of pictures before you go out will help.
Lots of luck!

Cyans and friscosas will bruise an obvious blue when handled.

Your mushrooms are probably in the genus Inocybe.

I thought Inocybe for a few but it's good to know they all are.
Thanks, Alan.
