It's freezing outside. Should I still order spore syringe?
    #13800116 - 01/17/11 01:54 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

The temperature outside is freezing. If I order a spore syringe will it be good?

I'm afraid that it will freeze, the spores will die, and will contaminate.

Does anyone know about this?

For real!?! Do you know how low the temperatures they can withstand?

Also, wouldn't the frozen syringe let in contams from the expansion during freezing?

If it's extremely cold or hot, get a PO box to ship them to so they stay indoors.  If by 'freezing' you mean right around the freezing point, then don't worry about it.  If it's -40, that's a different story.

Water's one of the few liquids (if not the only one) that expands both when solid and gaseous.

Frozen spore syringe = dead spores. Order a spore PRINT instead it will survive freezing no problem. But you will have to make your own syringes with it when you get it or go another innoc route such as agar with a loop.
