I live in Louisiana and have been searching for cubensis ever since I found 2 small ones in October. I'm sort of getting discouraged about going back to the same field to find them, though. I realize it's the cold season, but I haven't found anything active since October.
I'm wondering if anyone would recommend trying the same fields over and over. Perhaps since I haven't been to the fields in the mushroom season around spring and summer is why I haven't found much?
Appreciate any advice, thanks!

go back to field. since you found 2 there in the "off" months i would definitely hit the field once season hits. it has been a rough winter even for us in florida so i can't imagine finding much in louisiana over the winter. just my 2 cents.

I went out yesterday and found a small cluster of copes (1st pic). I saw no pan ants. The 2nd picture is an older cube so old I had to toss it. In the 3rd picture - I believe 2 of them are active because of the bruising after I got them home.
