Always lmao...
On that note I dont use gypsum because I really dont care to lmao and or see a difference when I have tried to use it.. I normally work with isolates anyways, well now I do.. So I know what im getting with just coir and verm..
And like 13 said if you do use it stay under 5%.. Cause as he said it will just fuck things up I had a bucket of coir turn into a bucket of cement practically..
But if it is your first bulk grow I would advise you to follow the tek step by step.. Then after a successful grow or a few and you think you know what your doing start adding coffee, and coir and all those other little extra's.. And it's not that I haven't added stuff to my coir but its just I prefer not to now because coir is so contam resistant that adding stuff like coffee or poo or other additives then u need to make sure you pasteurize the substrate properly and there is less room for error.

10% is way too much. You might as well add a bucket of sand at that percentage.
Sand is Calcium Carbonate and will play with your PH allot. Calcium/Sulfur (Gypsum) are both vital nutrients for mushrooms, and also helps at holding your PH stable.

It's really not that hard, the first one I didn't even do right but it colonized fine. I just followed the tech ingredient wise but didn't use a bucket, it was not a good idea. I advise following the tech. I ended up throwing the hole pot in the oven for 3 hrs at like 200 degrees. We'll see how it fruits. I bought a bucket and actually have some pasteurizing the right way right now. Ez peezy is right.
I have a ton of supplies on the way which I'm waiting on before I put this colonized substrate into fruiting conditions. It's been spawned for 13 days. Everything should arive this week.

Trays in a greenhouse work just as well as tubs.

Awesome!
Do you have a suggestion as far as layering between your substrate and spawn with 4" trays?

yeah just mix the spawn very well into the "pasteurized" bucket of coir/verm and distribute evenly into however many trays it will fill.

Adding 20g of hydrated lime makes this mix pretty much very contam resistant.

Ok awesome!
Last question. Is casing beneficial with this method? It seems that you achieve great results without it, but would adding it increase results even more?

How would you go about adding the lime to your sub?
I have some more spawn ready and would like to try it.

casing will not increase yields but will help with pinsets which in turn will increase the 1st flush.
