When you have a box full of holes like that, c02 buildup just isn't much of an issue.
The air flow is to keep the water evaporating.
What you wrote might have some truth to it, but I think the emphasis is wrong.
Nice pictures.
I would change it to put the emphasis on the continual evaporation of water which in turns keeps the air moving up and out as well. Some people like to describe it as a wicking process where the wicking of water out of the cakes brings out the boomers.
Also if you look up the term 'stack affect' on the internet you will find some more related diagrams you might find interesting.

anytime anyones ever mentioned fanning it was to remove the co2 in sgfc atleast from all the posts ive read

If the c02 stratified as you claimed, wouldn't you expect it to fall out the bottom? I just don't see any way for c02 levels to get very high in a sgfc. Just look at your pics, air is flowing thru it constantly.

yes but c02 weighs more then 02 does if anything it would hinder the airflow through remember its not forced air thus it is relying only on its own mass to push through the fog so to speak im sure some of it does come out the sides but a majority of it doesnt

If co2 stratification were as you describe it, we would all die of asphyxiation.

The lack of evaporation of exess tend tp be the highest concern, fanning constantly helps the issue. CO2 in gas can be easily removed in a tub by making holes and stuffing them with polyfill.

you cant be serious with this statement can you?? comparing the artificial environment you create in a tupperware box to the entire earth is like apples and oranges

Well we don live in a tub, We have wind and trees and nature. When you make tubs you create a new ecosystem for your sub. Your hypothesis is not wrong, but theres more areas affected by fanning your terrarium than the release of CO2

well if yo look at the pictures i tried to seperate the moisture issues from the gas issues for the most part and covered them on two seperate areas thats why the drawings focus on specifics only ie airflow then airflow through and then gas exchange

Thanks for the pics. I really didnt understand how/why they worked until I saw yer pics. I just made my first one last night, but didnt put holes in the bottom as I thought all the others would be enough. Yer pics showed me why they are a must. How does the perlite stay in the chamber? Smaller holes?

i use hydrofarm super coarse perlite and the holes should only be 1/4" big. some people allow no holes in the bottom and then add a small amount of water to the tub but i feel like standing water is hazardous to your fc's health, but there are other who swear by it. Im glad this diagram helped thats what it was designed to do was really help grasp the idea of air flow. do not forget to soak your perlite prior to putting it in the chamber and make sure you allow it to drain well for more information i recommend RR's lets grow mushrooms videos more especially 1-1 it walks yo through your entire first time step by step
yay for learning!!!

If there is any current in the sg at all, its deffo not in a downward motion. One word. Convection.
Also if CO2 Settled out of the air to the floor, why are my dogs not dead? They sleep on the floor of my bed room. Its also my colonisation and fruiting room. Lots of CO2 in there man. some times I sleep with the windows closed

I hope my little remark about not drilling holes in the bottom of my SGFC, on that other thread, didnt spark this. I also should have mentioned that I elevate my sub. I make these things out of rabbet wire. I do drill lots of holes, that allows air to circulate under the wire. here's a picture of the wire thing, that I put in the bottom of my SGFChttp://
