See, I don't get that. If a person destroys their own property what's the big deal? I had a situation two years back involving a shitty landlord at my place of business. She was hard up for cash so she gave me the choice of paying a $400 rent increase or moving my shop elsewhere. I started moving my stuff out, (which she never thought would happen) and when I came back the next day to get the rest I noticed she changed the lock on my place with half my equipment still inside! I flipped out and took a power saw to the door. When the cops arrived I simply told them that I built that place myself and could produce a receipt for the destroyed door proving it was my property. No charges were filed against me.
