Fixing an amplifier
    #13454654 - 11/08/10 06:29 PM (2 years, 6 months ago)

So i had a 5.1 klipsch pro system, and recently the sub(also where the amplifier is located) started to make noises, so i opened it up to find a mouse nest.  I cleaned it all up, i found 2 little wires completely chewed through so i replaced the wire.  Then there was a big red and a big black wire going to the sub speakers, they were chewed down to the wire and a few of the wires were chewed through, so i tried to apply a little solder to replace any lost wire, and then i wrapped them up.

Anyways, it seems to be slightly better but not much, anyone have any experience with amps and such?

clean the circuit board, hot water and soap, let it dry for a couple days

the mouse pee could be bridging something

actually i already cleaned it up with 91% rubbing alcohol and qtips, there was about a billion turds on it, well as best as i could anyway.  I took some pics can't remember what i all got a shot of but if they turned out ok ill post them up in a few hours, i think i only took a shot when i first opened it up so prolly can't see much.

Right now its not making any noise, im starting to wonder if when it makes noise its because there inside it.

Anyways i caught 4 live mice and caged them, then i caught 2 mice on a sticky trap and froze them, then i caught 2 mice with a snapper trap, and then i think i caught about 3 or 4 mice with my live trap that i feed to my snake.  And i just checked my snapper trap and it went off and the peanut butter is gone so there's at least 1 more
