I'm convinced that they're on to something very specific, and very real.
When I say specific, I mean that there is only one thing they care about: the hang-up of self-identity.
Any other concepts of enlightenment you might be carrying around, go elsewhere for. They're not interested.
I have never seen such a no-nonsense approach to this topic.
The founder of the site is utterly western -- British, in fact -- and it is obvious that he despises vaguearies and obscurantism.
It's a very Zen-like atmosphere, in that they refuse to beat around the bush.
From reading their material, and seeing what's going on, getting verbally assaulted by Ciaran I am as convinced as I will ever be that "awakening" is a real phenomenon, have recognized the truth of no-self and it can be accomplished recognized by pretty much anyone as long as they actually try.

Interesting read, but im a bit concerned,
if there is no 'I' or 'You', then whats the point to all of this, if we are just the imaginations of ourselves?
I read a bit on the forums but didn't find any explanation

okay i read a 'reasonable' portion of that article...initially i found his tone absolutely insufferable.
but there were definitely some good parts. however, i am skeptical that one could ever attain a 'pure' relation to the world, with or without an 'i'.
i think i am more or less, somewhat, kindof a nihilist 
and so i deplore people who claim to hold the 'truth'
sure you can implement one system to engage with the world.
but it is one among many, infinite systems.
to engage with the world without a system seems to me ridiculous. to know there is a computer screen, you must have a system that has a place in it for a computer screen. same goes for words. same goes for anything.
removing the 'i' does not really solve anything in particular... i dont think...
it just creates another system.

Its just that your mind doesn't want to die so will throw up these thoughts like 'removing the 'I' doesn't solve anything...i dont think'
Its the minds job to think, so of course when you try to remove it, it will give you thoughts to counter its own death
BTW the dude who runs that forum threatened to ban me, for posting in his forum!
He also deleted stuff i posted, and accused me of allowing dudes to gangrape a a 15 year old girl.
So if you want strict censorship, you like being told to fuck off & told your full of shit, then join that forum for sure

i dont see how thats relevent to my post about systems..?
if the 'i' is just one part of a system how is removing it changing the fact that there is still a system and that system is still arbitrary (1 of infinite)?

Its identification with the system that causes suffering, so when you no longer identify with it then you no longer suffer, as you say the system continues... but you'll be in so much peace it won't affect you, and naturally when identification ceases, so do a LOT of negative aspects of the system

Can you give us an abstract on what all of this is about? What is his view? I read part of the link but it's just too long and I felt I wasn't getting much out of it.

Yes, but the radio-astronomer can present reasonable evidence in order to justify his proclamation of truth. The impression I got with Ciaran's claim is that he's not even trying to support the no-self hypothesis; instead he's asserting it as an axiom. If this isn't true it'd be great if you could summarize his argument for it.

Basically there's this guy, running a website, and everyone involved thinks they're on an enlightening spree.
There is only a single question they want you to answer, not for them but for yourself, and that is "is it true?" Is there really no individual self?
IMO they have an airtight case, logically speaking, and there are dozens of people (or nearly that many) who claim to have "popped" -- their de-sensationalized word for Awakened.
They claim all you need to do is be ruthlessly honest in pursuing that one question, and you'll pop.

The dude is harsh, there's no doubt about that, but I suspect it's because he is trying to accomplish something very specific, and has no patience for people who aren't on the same page.
Also yes, Cypher, if you'd duke it out with the guy, at a minimum I'm sured it'd be entertaining for all spectators.
