Final Fantasy X ending
    #13211195 - 09/17/10 09:28 PM (2 years, 8 months ago)

I got to the very last part but didnt beat the boss.  I watched the ending on youtube though but I didn't really understand it.  Can any of you guys help explain the ending?

Meg Ryan, AKA Tidus, comes out of the closet as a transsexual then dissolves into fairy dust, something beautiful and magical we all must do someday.

On the real I got teary eyed at the end. FFX is my favorite game of all time though. Never been so immersed in another realm.

Tidus may be a bitch, but Auron IS THE FUCKING MAN.

It was a dream. The fayth dreamed Tidus in Dream Zanarkand to put an end to sin, so that the world can return to what it was.

Tidus never existed in the first place. It was all a dream...

Actually that makes him even cooler.

I use to be a big gamer back when I was 15? 16? Playstation and PS2 were my game system of choice... I loved the entire final fantasy series. Can't say I'm a big gamer now, but I do play games ocassionally, my game of choice would be Zelda: Ocarina of Time for N64 or even Super Mario World for the SNES..

My favorite is definitely 7 -> 9 -> 8 -> 10 for the FF series..

9 was a lot more like the first 5 or so final fantasy games. 7 really changed the whole series.

i wish they would go back to the turn based style that was in all of them from 1-10 (Tactics excluded). this mmorpg stuff and the gambit system they had in 12 are just horrible.

the gameplay in final fantasy was great but the story is what really keeps you interested. it was for me anyway

And what was the story of 9? That the main character was part of an elite group of aliens with tails? Major DBZ rip off.

i remember they kidnapped the princess. the queen was the initial bad guy or whatever but they found out later that then henchman was who they really needed to take out.

i remember they allowed you to leave the final battle half way through to hit a save point and use a tent. that was lame but i liked it otherwise.

i couldnt get FFVII working in ePSXe with the 360 controller.. maybe ill play IX. or try to figure out how to emulate X.

I actually liked FF12s fighting system, it was a nice change up from ALL the other FFs being turned based

And yes Envix, its definitely worth playing through once

i wasnt a fan. once you set your gambits the right way you essentially didnt need to do anything at all during a fight.

that is really lame.

i prefer the old style but i actually do still want to pick up XIII once i have time to dedicate to it. i know if i get it now i will just waste time that i need to be studying.

im really not a fan of online gaming because of all the retards. give me a simple, single player game with a solid story and simple combat system and im good.

7-10 are some of the best games ever made. dont know why Square would try to change something that wasnt broken..

FFX was my first and only Final Fantasy game. Very fucking awesome game.
I remember being almost emotionally invested into the world and characters.
Was pretty sweet.

Ah, good times.

My buddy let me borrow FFXII a month back and I played it for a couple hours but didn't get into it. Haven't played it since.

Even though it got just about the same rating as FFX didn on IGN, something ike 9.5 or something really good like that.

agreed. 10 seemed like the end of a generation for Square. X-2 was next which was horrible.

youd really like Chrono Trigger too if you have a DS (or feel like hooking up a SNES emulator).

I can't get myself to play Chrono Trigger again, but another classic nonetheless.

Gawd, don't even get me started. Every FF besides 12 after X has been a complete disappointment

X-2 was COMPLETE garbage, I mean wtf. I couldn't even finish it. The online FF was stupid too but I never payed for that, and the FF13 was garbage, couldn't bring myself to finish playing that either

FF tactics, FF7, FF8, FF9 and FF 10 are the only final fantasies worth playing... but that is my opinion

Also, play Legends of the Dragoon. All time favorite game hands down

i liked the ones re-released for the DS

i dont know what it is but i really cant stand the tactics style of combat though. its like an overly complicated game of chess. the story may be worth it but i cant get into the gameplay enough to continue it.

I have never played a DS in my entire life, so I couldn't tell you about the ones they re-released. My generation of gaming didn't have that...

I always liked the combat especially further in the game when you got summoners with long range and I liked the fact you can change your character around.

But seriously, if you haven't played The Legend of Dragoons do yourself a favor and play it. Its for the playstation but it has an epic storyline and its just awesome, kind of a long game too, its a 4 disc game

I've always wanted to play FF7, I don't think I've ever heard a bad review about it.
Everyone that mentions it only has positive things to say.
Tried finding a torrent of it a few months ago but it's not as easy I'd think.
If anybody knows where I can download that shit let me know please.

the fact that final fantasy 6 (3 in the US) has not even been mentioned yet makes me very sad.

ff6 is the best rpg i have played.  period..  the character development and storyline are second to none as far as i am concerned

FF 1, 2/4 , 3/6, 5, and 9 are my favorites.

Wasn't into Mystic Quest.

Liked 8 and ten......kind of(though it was kind of short.)

Loved Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore and Earthbound and Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.

They don't have Final Fantasy 3/6 on DS.
They have Final Fantasy 2 and 3 and maybe 1 on DS that only came out in Japan on the nes.

Different games.

I got final fantasy 2/4 on my DS it is awesome 'cause it was redone in 3d.

The one that came out on snes/ famicom.

i probably have the numbers confused because of the odd way the games were brought state-side but there was a Final Fantasy 3 on the DS:

Star Ocean for the SNES with the DeJap English translation is a fantastic RPG; I play it on a GameProfessor SFII backup device for the SNES. :nerd:

Out of the Final Fantasy series, some say that X was the last good one, but for some reason I preferred XII.

Pic for fun:

FF3 on the DS is a remake of FF3 Japanese, and personally I liked the 8-bit version better.  It just seemed awkward at times on the DS, especially with the final boss fight.

Absolutely hated 9.

You obviously don't like the first 3/4 or half of the series then.

Yaaay I love all those games.

the final 2 boss fights in ff3 japanese 8-bit were really fun fights in my opinion.

although both of them only used one move, that move was powerful enough to warrant a strategy in regards to killing the boss before the boss killed you

epic damage races
