what's everyone buying?
I generally am bored as fuck with MW type games so I'll probably skip out on black ops and MoH till they go down in price, if at all.
what I will be getting on day 1:
dead rising 2 -9/28
castlevania: lords of shadow - 10/05
fallout: new vegas - 10/19
maybes:
vanquish - 10/19
force unleashed 2 - 10/26
007: bloodstone - 11/02
assassin's creed: brotherhood - 11/16
I think that's it out of everything announced for this year so far. there will probably be something good coming in december that's not set yet, but the one thing that sucks is there are no RPG's really. fallout is the closest thing left this year as far as RPG's go.

Fall out new vegas for sure, I haven't played fallout 3 yet dunno if i can be bothered since new vegas is coming out, but i like the hype around new vegas. Not really sure if i'm going to get anything else soon though, i do have some older games i want to get like Killzone 2.

damn you guys are boring. is that really all you play? just MW over and over again? don't care about any kind of story or real challenge? just shooting the fuck out of everything? I get it, I mean..........it's fun, but after a while it's all the same. that's really all anyone is waiting for?

i only really get in to multiplayer these days. singleplayer rpgs and such don't really hold my interest. i like being competitive and pwning noobs, ya know? CoD is the most polished online experience on consoles right now so that's what i play.

I'd recommend the Battlefield series. Mainly BF2 and BF Bad Company 2. I know, they're both FPSes like MW, but they're much much better games. CoD is fun but it doesn't compare to Battlefield imo. Battlefield feels a lot more realistic (though, it's still a 3/10 on the realism level) - there are better guns, a few classes to choose from, there is a MUCH bigger focus on strategy and gameplay rather than just "RUSH AND SHOOT!!!" - the vehicle gameplay is intense, the maps are huge, and it's something you can play for days on end without getting bored because every round is so so different from the last.
Also, why are you only looking at new games? I hate to admit it but most of the newer games that have came out recently and that are coming out are absolutely awful in comparison to games of the past. Especially when it comes to RPGs, there hasn't been a *truly* good RPG in several years now.
If you want some good older RPGs I'd recommend Arcanum (my favourite RPG of all time, made by the people who made Fallout 1 and 2), Morrowind (Prequel to Oblivion, graphics and combat suck - but can both be fixed with mods, gameplay is much better overall, and more story + dialogue), NWN1 (2 isn't as good imo, it's a D&D rules RPG, great game, can get boring after a while but with all the mods out there it's great), Fallout 1 + 2, Diablo 2 (Okay it's not really an RPG, but still a great game and still has an active online community)

I generally like Battlefield over CoD, but CoD WaW was a really good game IMO, and I think Black Ops is going to be very good as well.
Games buying:
Civilization 5 - going to be really good, I've been addicted to Civ IV for 4 years, so I'm really excited for this one.
NHL 11 - Canadian. That should explain enough, really cool that they added the CHL.
Black Ops - The gambling matches/gamemode looks really cool on this game. Shooting people + gambling in 1? That's what I call a real game.
