I have just transferred a tiny bit of agar to LC. The LC mix is 1/5 teaspoon of dex 1/5 teaspoon malt extract for 500ml of distilled water. It's at 77 degrees in 250ml jars. I inoculated with a tiny bit of agar. 1/4cm squared. I have searched the forums and I know its impossible to say how long it will take because of the variables, but can anyone give me an idea on how long. 1 week. 1 month 1 year just an educated guess is all I want. Just an idea.
Also is it recommended to inoculate agar first? to test for contaminants? I have 3 jars of LC so want to know they're alright before I knock up 20 jars of black mold right?

Well I made a few jars the other day with a fail syringe. Got some black mold/bacteria in it.
Doesn't look very good so tomorrow I was gonna pc them and tip them out. Was thinking they would do nicely for a test batch? If I pc them for a good 1/5 hrs make sure its all dead then wait for 2-3 weeks for culture to grow, then inoculate the jars. Not for mushrooms just for a test batch. What do people think about that. Or not recommended? Just save myself mixing up another batch! If I do it tomorrow then I can have the 2-3 weeks to see if anything grows in it.
I just think jars are more conclusive as agar can contaminate easier anyways.

half pints or agar ... you can always get away with shit but with mushrooms you usually get out what you put in ...
