not really, i used to tho
and i know a few titles of what I think is good anime off the top of my head, but I don't really watch it anymore. 
I've had some amazing revelations from watching anime in the past.

I do but not all of it.
Baki the Grappler, Berserk, and Ninja Scroll are some I liked when I was watching them.

By the way your sig pic reminds me so much of the myth surrounding Dionysus. The Greeks very much associated Apollo, the God of order and logic and placed him squarely within their homeland of Greece. At the same time, they felt that Dionysus was very foreign, and many believe of a more eastern influence.
Apollo was always seen as keeping his distance, never coming into direct contact with humanity. His epithets in the ancient Greek literature are almost always a reference to this distance. His influence is from afar. Dionysus is the exact opposite of this. Dionysus loves to enter into humans and put them into a state of ecstatic trance. Very strange and bizarre rituals are said to be representative of these states, and your picture strikes me as a great example.
An eastern influence with a rather ambiguous form for a human with ecstatic coloring and emotionality to it. Pretty interesting to me

hah, I rarely come across someone who has seen Jin-Roh 
One of the most truly haunting animes that I've ever watched was Gantz. I wrote an entire essay in Japanese about that one. Truly terrifyingly dark but also truly incredible and on point.

Ninja Scroll was my introduction into the more violent anime. What an amazing art team they had

I used to watch a lot of anime, but not much anymore. Welcome to the NHK, and Saiyuki are both really good.

watching Hajime no Ippo right now as per recommendation by a friend who has good taste in anime

I used to watch alot of anime, now I just follow naruto.. anime rules, eventho most people think anime its childish, the plots, storylines and personalities in anime are so far more developed than any other entertainment.
Gurren Lagen, One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, are a few I really enjoyed
