MCSO, DTF seize 'legal mushrooms' in syringe
September 2, 2010 - TheLeafChronicle.com
An agent from the 19th Judicial District Drug Task Force was called to a Highway 41-A South residence Wednesday afternoon who confiscated a syringe filled with a clear liquid said to be “legal mushrooms.”
According to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office report by Deputy Jesse Hedrick, the woman living at the home called because a suspicious package came in the mail for her son.
She opened the package and found the syringe with a clear liquid inside. Her son told her “it was legal mushrooms you look at under a microscope.”
Hedrick called the DTF agent, who confiscated the package. The son has an outstanding warrant on file and the mother said she would try to get her son to turn himself in.

so my guess is..
he is growing mushrooms, ordered spores to his house of some cubensis strain. His mom opened the package, when confronted about it, he could only think of saying they were legal mushroom spores to look at under a microscope.
the thing is, even cubensis and other psilocybin spores are legal in all states but GA,Ca and ID.. so idk why this is even a story at all..

I think it's more likely that the police officer and mother misunderstood what the kid was trying to tell them. Try telling someone that knows absolutely zero about mycology, let alone science (this is TN remember), that there are spores in the liquid, spores are legal, and mushrooms grow from germinated spores that have colonized a medium.
