An important key feature of \Marasmius oreades you should know is that the stems are very flexible and tough. The lookalike mushrooms have stems that snap like most mushrooms. I have taken M. oreades and demonstrated tying one in a knot, something you can do with very few mushrooms.

Happy mushrooming!

You can use Marasmius oreades as poupourri when you Civil War era-cracker dry them.  The smell is amazing.
