I broke the female part where the stem and bowl fit into. I'm pretty sure I could use a dremel tool to grind down the broken part and then fit a rubber stopper on it but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for any help.

I did the same thing but I had a hard time grinding the hole evenly and getting a good seal. I ended up putting some RTV silicone around stopper and it worked great.

I guess the silicone won't get heated so its not harmful for the lungs or anything... At least I hope not.

Yea, that part doesn't get hot. If it did you would also be smokin rubber stopper.

Theres also Epoxy Resin and my good old stand by mighty putty. those two things can fix any bong or pipe
