angering them only cements their belief.

you try and find some that just shatter their belief immediately.

i think there was a sweet one i liked to throw out that said something like

if god loved anyone, itw ould be the people who actually used his gift of logic to doubt his existence

I personally don't try to change their belief, and its funny to me when they get all worked up about the quote. My favorite philosophical quote though is my sig

I take pleasure in frustrating silly people who are set in their ways. That quote is one which if you don't know the rest of the book, it seems gnarlier than it is..

"Once Zhuangzi dreamt he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know he was Zhuangzi. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Zhuangzi. But he didn't know if he was Zhuangzi who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Zhuangzi."

but can the tragedy every be removed from comedy?

I sat in on a friends theatre class once and learned that the Greek root of 'tragedy' is 'goat song'. It goes back to the old rituals where people would sacrifice a goat to the gods. I was kind of amazed to learn the common word for it to the greeks had such a keen psychological understanding of what was going on.

Whether Chuang Tzu or Zhuangzi (for those who are new to hearing this "name', he is one of the three "historical" Taoists), I've read this same idea/concept a few times and it has affected me differently each time. But now, reading it again, I see/feel something different.  well, more like an improved, more elaborate idea/feeling from the previous.  And man, this "passage" really touches on a lot.  makes me smile   <3

I really like people to tell me the meaning of my quotes from their point of view.

My meaning goes real deep, but I'll try to condense it.

Money has no value in reality, it truly is just paper with a portrait and  this society is brainwashed to believe that and all these other lies by established by a few group of people

OR

You can look at it like an airplane with capitalism being first class and communism being coach as far as the passengers know they're being treated differently but they all have the same destination and is oblivious to the actions and thoughts of the pilot who may have good or bad intentions
