Has anyone here ever played Fallout? Any of the Fallout games? One of the best games to succesfully combine first person with third person shooting. Fallout New Vegas is my topic, what do you think about it? Are you excited? I know I am, I've been waiting for this game ever since I beat the last one. The map is supposed to be twice as huge as the last one in fallout 3. I just hope the storyline gets better and I would love to see some of the characters for the 1st and 2nd fallout.

No, none of us have any taste in games. Il def be playing new vegas tho. How that is possible I am not sure yet.

Fallout 1 and 2 were way better then Fallout 3. I've played all and Fallout just couldn't keep me addicted like the first and second game did....
so i guess i have no taste as Fallout 3 is a loser in my oppinion

This. 1 and 2 are 'fallout'. 3 and on are all pieces of crap that are trying to cash in on the name

Fallout 3 was cool but it lacked polish. I guess I'm used to blizzard spoiling me... Is new vegas going to have better graphics? Or is it just a new map and new group of quest hubs? Like is it an expansion or a new game?

new game. same engine, just reworked a bit, plus they're adding iron sights so it can be played more like a typical FPS, plus a bunch of new features. should be pretty awesome given the groundwork bethesda laid out, though I'm not sure about obsidian doing it considering alpha protocol sucking pretty bad, though they've done some good stuff in the past like kotor2.

Fallout's concept is so good. I hope they realize it better in New Vegas. Some somewhat intelligent AI would be nice, too.

Basically, your companions are going to have storylines. Your going to have a companion wheel to make them do whatever you want them to do. New guns, a whole new map twice as big as DC. Lots and lots of quests. Fallout 1 was the best though in IMO.

i've never really been able to get into these open world games unless i'm pretty stoned/on amps. the shooting controls weren't very sharp and the gameplay was too slow for a fps (IMO). i don't really get a kick out of managing my inventory and leveling up skills.
it was pretty though, and i admit it was a good game, just not my thing..

Agreed, I feel like they reduce the downtime between shooting by like half. And honestly, invest in some fucking AI.

Agreed. But you know with that kind of game, the more intelligent the AI, the more glitchy it gets.

I was disappointed by fallout 3 * I played all the fallouts including tactics and brother hood of steel. The first two are great and there is a large community thats been keeping them alive.
I can say I have been disappointed with the quilt y of games lately BFBC2, Fallout 3, Dragon age , ect....
I have a feeling I might stop most gaming all together besides civ 4 ( civ 5 looks like a piece of shit) and anarchy online

wait for improvments... games haave these periods appearntly that are like lulls in imagination... or or at least lulls in what CAN be done.
RAGE and portal are games i am hoping to be better then most of the shit that has been put out in recent years.
the new bioshock coming in a couple years too... gonna be great; they have been working on it since bioshock one.
oh and fallout 1 & 2 were some of my favorite games... i am getting into planescape torment now too, and it's made by the same dudes and it's awesome.

I have no taste in games but definitely will be playing New Vegas, somethings gotta replace World at War and SF4. Jonsin for some new action.
