Nice way to end the season Chaos.

When does the season start up again? I hear summer is fairly rad for cubies in nsw. I cant get any and i dont wanna go looking because i dont really know any good spots, and by the sound of things there aint much arond.
When i ask you?
Cubes season is around Nov-Jan.

Lost count on how many places I searched for subs with no result this year. It was even worse last year with no finds at all. Quote:

Good luck Johnny.
From what I saw only the ones we had left there a while ago had matured and nothing new had grown - even some of the pins that were left were stunted and did not grow.

One of my patches still has pins but im competing with someone else i think. Every time i go back there is only pins, so someone is picking them. Meh i think im probably not going to bother hunting any more this season anyway. Ive collected about 290g dry this year so im set for the near future

wow I was lucky to find the subs when I did, the patch that I got mine from are not producing anymore either, even with all this rain. I wonder what it is about the season that makes them grow, surely it wouldnt matter what season it is if the conditions are right? But I am so ignorant when it comes to plants
I am wondering if I do a trip again this weekend if my tolerance will be up? I did it for the first time last sat. My experience seems a lot different to what I have read on the trip reports, it was a very pleasant experience but no ego death or philosophical revelations (which I was looking forward to), instead I was extremely happy and also extremely active, I was jumping around a lot, doing pushups and chinups.. a lot of shadow boxing, haha it was weird because I was under the impression I was going to be knocked out, does anyone else get active when they trip? Also I wasnt knocked out but probably more alert and alive than ever, it was really exhilarating, and the visuals were insane, the first time I hallucinated ever was amazing, just saw this paintings lines starting to drip down infront of me, then everyting I looked at became wavy, I felt like I was walking around in avatar, like a whole new world. Really it was the most fun Ive had in a LONG while!
thanks guys for guidance in hunting and IDing, really appreciate it

Quite a short season really, but i guess it started a little earlier than last year.
Your tolerance should be fine. When i first got into shrooms i was tripping nearly every weekend for a few months, and didnt notice much of a build up of tolerance. A little but not much. As long as you space them out at least a week or so between trips. Having them the next day or day after would be a waste for example.
Glad you had a good first trip! I remember mine. Was at a friends house watching the boosh (i say watching but we were more just looking at the pretty colours), then that tundra song came on and we had that on repeat for like an hour. Was the most amazingly funny thing we had ever seen. Then my sober friend played gta 4 and i sat right next to the big plasma and thought i was in the gta 4 world. Everytime you drove through the city part with the neon lights, i could taste and feel the colours. Then we abandoned the tv and went outside and lay on the front lawn and watched the headlights of cars zooming toward us and watched a storm roll in over the horizon. We thought it was Armageddon but our bunker house would save us so we went back inside. Then we noticed the floorboards had faces in them. Oh god i could go on forever. Twas a good night

Wow, totally different trips to what I experience. Good to see that GTA4 is good for something.

Ignore my id request, i've just read the rules about that. Perhaps i should have said "Are these inactive mushrooms indicator species?"

I don't think you broke any rules. It looks like you are hunting in the right spots but the season is winding down at the moment so there may not be much around. Look for moist, sheltered areas. At the begining of this thread there are some great tips for biginner hunters.
As for your finds the first one looks like a Gymnopus species and the second one is a coral fungus, maybe Ramaria. I don't think that either is edible but could be wrong on that.

Hey guys, havn't been on here for a while, havn't really found any have looked around my area alot but it just seems to not have the right vibe... i always find them in different locations like my uni haha. saw these today but was in front of to many people so i came back tonight and took them. They are a much lighter colour to the ones i usually get and a fair few of them seem to be rotten... i think its okay but i just want to double check with all of you. Some of them have hollow stems getting eaten out by maggots or something.. but they are not white and they jump around like fleas? and some have some whitish stuff on the inside which could be mould? I threw out most of the real bad looking ones What do you think?

Some nice finds there moon. But some of them look like they are on the border of going bad. If in doubt, throw them out. I would be drying them out asap to kill the bugs and stop them rotting.
Any pics of the white substance on them would be helpful.
