Look for open auditions. It's mostly based on a headshot or a full body shot or both.
Alternatively, you can just walk into a set and pretend you are supposed to be there. A lot of the time, there are too many people working on a movie for everyone to know whats going on. You could be grabbed by someone shooting a scene and told to do something or you could just ask them where you are supposed to be and they might just put you somewhere.
Probably won't get in the credits that way though.

Most major universities will have them. You can get paid a good amount of money. Search around some university websites.

I worked for a guy that did a lot of drug studies through private testing
firms, pay was as high as $2500/wk, he cant be using any sort of other
drugs prior to the study and he'll be locked in a dorm during the study period

Yea for some reason I am more skeptical of the private firm drug runs than the university ones. That is a lot of money though.

I'm an extra through a local talent company, every month or so a local college, casino, or something needs extras and generally I get paid 125$ for about an hour or two of work... good shit 
Nicest people I've ever worked with...
and I doubt they drug test anywhere
