hydroponics biatches
    #12969351 - 07/28/10 08:40 PM (1 year, 9 months ago)

hello shroomery, hope everyones having a good night  just wondering if anyone can help me out. I'm planning a hydroponic grow and I'm a little unsure about what medium to start my plants out on. I start them out in rockwool or coconut fiber and once they enter veggie growth I can transfer them to a coco fiber/ clay pebbles mix in a pot in my hydro system right?

Yes, that is one way to skin the cat.

What type of system do you plan on using?

Yea, That question has SOOO many answers.

I 've always used NFT and grew mainly in 4 inch Rockwool blocks but Ive also used a vermiculite filled coco coir cup to good effect as a cheapo alternative.

i plan on using an ebb and flow system, my only worry is that is the pump fails my plants could die within hours, im just hoping the coco coir will be holding enough water to hold them a little bit longer just in case im at work or something

DWC has it's selling points. It is largely for the people who are in the bigger roots, bigger plants school of thought.
Never used it myself, but was about to experiment with it before I shut everything down.

i looked into it and i might end up goin with the dwc. Its a great way to deliver tons of oxygen to your roots and its very inexpensive. Thanks dude.
