 Is this an okay sleep formula or is it overkill?

1 25mg doxylamine tablet
1 0.25mg Xanax
1-2mg of melatonin
Is this too much or is it good?
I want to get to sleep easy.
I always take a xanax before bed, half the time I take a doxylamine.
But since I didn't sleep at all last night and am a little tweaked I though maybe add the melatonin.
Should I do the 1mg or 2mg of melatonin?

I don't know about Doxylamine, but careful with that Melatonin. It can have paradoxical effects if you take too too much for a long period of time.

As a pharmacist, I would like to know if you are prescribed to the Xanax by your doctor. Because if you are not then be very careful. Xanax is very addicting and you will have withdrawal symptoms if you do not taper yourself off of it. Unlike codeine or other opiates, Xanax (a benzodiazepine) does not have a drug you can take to get off of it. With opiates there are drugs like Suboxone or Subutex. Melatonin works differently for different people. Honestly, in my opinion if you're taking a benzodiazepine, it would be hard to notice melatonin. Be careful.

Yes I am prescribed it I take that one low dose every night.

Doxylamine is a sedating antihistamine. Pretty harmless to take. I would personally use diphenhydramine over doxylamine.

Ask your doctor if you can switch to Clonazepam. Clonazepam works similar to Xanax (alprazolam), but it is much better for insomnia. Clonazepam has a muscle relaxant in it and this could be all the difference in your sleep. I hope this helps.

all 3 of them should definitely get you to sleep. if it doesn't, then you got some problems

From my experience, melatonin doesn't do anything to help me get to sleep, it just helps me feel more rested when I wake up.

75 mg of DPH is like, sleep for 12 hours like a rock.

Yep, same here. I feel extremely great in the morning if I did not smoke marijuana that day (and take a melatonin supplement)
