KAJANG: When police raided a drug laboratory here on Monday, little did they realise the suspect could also be a bomb-maker.
They stumbled onto a cache of spent military ammunition and explosives in the single-storey home of the man in Taman Paling Jaya, Semenyih.
They seized 11 hand grenade caps, 36 spent shotgun and M16 shells, and several trip flares. Police are checking if the suspect planned to make an explosive device and if he was a secret society member.
Kajang district police chief ACP Shakaruddin Che Mood said it was too early to determine the motives but suggested the suspect could have sneaked into a shooting range, military or police training ground to collect the items.
He said it was also possible the man, a 40-year-old widower and suspected drug addict, could have planned to sell them as scrap.
“Some of the items, like the bullet shells, are made from copper and have a price in the market."
Police seized ketamine and Ecstasy worth about RM23,000 and a host of drug-making paraphernalia, such as liquid chemicals, PVC pipe, a compressor and a medium-sized baking oven.
Police said the suspect was thought to have sold drugs to club-goers and addicts here, and nearby areas for the past six months.

Hand grenade caps = harmless pieces of metal
Spent shotgun shells = harmless pieces of plastic and brass
Spent "M16 shells" (which they would have referred to as "5.56mm cartridge casings" if they had any fucking brains) = harmless pieces of brass
Trip flares = pretty much just a road flare that happens to be ignited by tugging on a string
I fail to see how spent casings and flares turn someone into a suspected bomb maker. It's not really possible to make a bomb using spent casings, it's nearly impossible to make a bomb out of flares, and grenade caps - how do they have any proof that they're grenade caps? The only actual grenades I can think of that had any sort of a cap on them were old WWII grenades (the German potato mashers and the British gammons). Maybe by "grenade caps" they're talking about those toy models of grenades that we all had when we were kids - the models of grenades that you put a capgun cap into, then throw it at something and it makes a bang noise.
This article makes me hate the Malaysian police force / government for having such a prejudice jump-to-unlikely-conclusions justice system, and Aizat Sharif for writing such a shitjob article.

While this Malaysian article that I posted is pretty good, the favorite of my contributions is definitely the 05-14-2010 article from the official news agency of North Korea claiming that they had developed a new method of shiitake cultivation years after these same methods were pioneered and even pictured online here in the forums:

ALSO, I did a little reading and I believe that the Kuala Lumpur newspaper that published this article is viewed more as a tabloid. Perhaps they have sensationalized the story more than the police or courts have. Though, as said above, you do not want to be charged with trafficking drugs in Malaysia! Apparently you do not want to be busted with cum-bombs either. ~P~
