Tiny bright orange dots

I have some oyster tissue in pasteurized cardboard. It's mostly open air but I close the box on occasion to try to keep it from drying out too fast. Mycelium is definitely growing, though pretty slowly. It's very hot here. I have the box next to the air conditioner but it's still about 85 degrees.
Yesterday I noticed a couple orange specks on some pieces of mushroom tissue. I don't see any specks on the cardboard itself. The specks are less than a millimeter across. They'll be somewhat more concentrated on one part of the mushroom piece but aren't growing in clumps like green mold does.
The specks look spherical and like they are sitting on top of the tissue, as if they were tiny little beads. The orange is about the same color as a pill bottle and looks shiny, almost like jello.
The box has been going for about a week.
Any ideas what it might be?

Metabolites?
Pictures would help a ton.

They are too small to get a clear photo.

metabolites, try to keep it cool somehow. remember that an AC reduces moisture and will dry your oysters out even more.

Metabolites would be growing (forming? appearing?) on the tissue? It's not on the mycelium areas. It's on pieces of mushroom that don't seem to have felt like growing any mycelium. (Or maybe it is on the myc-growing pieces and I can't see because it's hiding under the mycelium?)
