Asht0n said: Psilocybe cyanescens DOES grow in the UK from woodchips. (The kind found around flower beds.)
A different species called Panaeolus cyanescens (= Copelandia cyanescens) does not, and only grows in tropical climates from dung.
They both contain psilocybin but have very different appearances and habitats. Hope that helps to clear up any confusion!
yes i was aware of this that is why im determined to find some!

Haha, me too. Well, last year anyway. I had loads of dreams of finding them in about August or September, and loads of dreams about tripping.
Had a dream that my mate gave me some liberty caps and then I had to have a job interview. Sat on the bus tripping. I could see weirder stuff than a real trip. And I didn't make it to the interview - think I got distracted by something
It's weird how it works it's way into dreams. It's like mycelium has started to work it's way through your brain to give you a reminder that it's that time of year again.

What about cheshire, I've been checking my spot for the last week but hadn't bothered today or yesterday.

Cool, I've only had one mild trip before, so perhaps this season I'll be tripping in my sleep! It's the DMT :P

It's been a great weekend for finding libs on my little walks, they are still massively outnumbered by a lot of other mushrooms but I have passed the 100 mark.
Dinner tonight included a Vascellum pratense and lots of raspberries, and I just found some nice Suillus grevillei for breakfast. I feel blessed. To top the weekend off my visitors made pictures using Coprinus ink:
