Four Easy Steps for Rye,
This is a tek showing how I get perfect rye, its the same way RR describes it but I thought I would put it into a pictorial. For this demonstration I am only doing a single jar.
Materials needed
Pressure cooker Rye. Strainer(colander) Quart jar/with a filtered lid Measuring cup(1 or 250mls cup) Gypsum(optional)
Step One
Measure out 1 cup or 250mls of rye to put it in the quart jar, now add water so it covers the rye by a few inches. As you will see the water will be murky. Swirl the jar and slowly pour off the water, by doing this you are straining off all the debris that is in the rye. Now do this 2 more times or till the water is free of debris. Now add HOT water to the jar so it covers the rye by a few inches,
If you are using gypsum add a pinch between your thumb and pointer finger into the jar and place the lid on the jar and shake. Now set the jar aside for 4-24 hours to let it soak. Letting your jars soak will hydrate the rye so when it comes time to boil and sterilize you will not have many burst rye kernels. Another reason some say its to let the endospores in the rye germinate. You will notice after a few hours the rye will expand as it is being hydrated
Step Two
Now that the rye has been soaking for 4-24 hours its time to boil it, add the rye and water into a pot and turn the burner on High, let it reach a full boil. Once it has reached a boil start your 10 minute count down.
After 10 minutes is up your rye should be el dente. Strain the rye in a strainer(colander) give it a few good shakes so that the majority of the water strains off. Now let it sit in the colander to steam off/dry for a good 30 minutes or until the outside of the rye is free of moisture(all the moisture you want is inside the rye). One way to tell if they are ready is to pick up a handful of rye and drop it back into the strainer(colander), the rye should fall freely out of your hand not stick.
You will notice a difference in looks between the rye after it was just boiled compared to it 30 minutes later as you can see here
Step Three
Now that your rye is hydrated and dry on the outside its time to load into jars, Load the rye into your jars leaving at least 1/3 empty space in the jar(so you can shake it while colonizing). Tighten down your filtered lids and cover the tops with foil. Pressure cook the jars for 90 minutes at 15 PSI. Start the 90 minute countdown once the pressure cooker has reached 15 PSI or the rocker starts to rock.
Step Four
After the 90 minutes is up let the jars cool down in the pressure cooker overnight or for around 8 hours Once the jars have cooled down to room temperature, open the pressure cooker and give the jars a good shake.
Now you are ready to inoculate the jars.

Good stuff here. I've heard rye is preferred to WBS, so this might get used soon.

I really like how you do your pictures and your writing style.
Can you please also describe how you inoculate the rye jars? I am confused on how to make lids for rye jars and why most people use two holes. + once you cover the holes with tyvek, how do you know where the needle hole is?

you could just put a hole in the lid and stuff it with polyfill. flame sterilize syringe and before u put it through the polyfill squirt some out to cool the needle. that one has just one hole.
u could also make other lids with 1 self healing hole (rtv silicone) and another hole covered by microtape or tyvek. this one has one self healnig port where u inject through and the other for GE.
look around for those teks

I'm sorry I should have been more specific in my question. The problem is that I don't have much space in my apartment so I was thinking about going invitro for my first time (to skip the fruiting chamber). For now, this is going to be a one time deal since my friend wants to try 'cubes but he wants me to grow them because he doesn't trust other people.
Now, I've read somewhere that rye MAY give more potency than BRF (I know people tend to diverge on that subject but since I want to grow them only once, I'd rather put all the chances on my side to make this a good trip for my friend).
I guess my question is: can I use rye in combination with Hippie's neglect tek?
Thank you.

I hope all is well in slovenia.
I believe the rye marked with red is treated somehow and is not good for our purposes, though I could be wrong.

The Tyvek branded painting suits are preferable. Unless it has the Tyvek brand sticker, don't get it. Can find them on Amazon or local home improvement stores usually.

As an addendum, get the largest size you can find. Probably the same price for more surface area!
