I'm using T. bridgesii, and I'm going to follow this guide: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7875294/fpart/1/vc/1
However, I have lots of Naptha and no Xylene, so I'm planning to substitute Naptha for Xylene.
Has anyone tried this, or heard about its effectiveness? I'm thinking they're pretty much interchangeable, since Mescaline is soluble in both.
Also, the guide says to use a glass turkey baster... but since you're only using it with the Xylene or acidic water, wouldn't plastic be sufficient for one time?

No I'm pretty sure you CANNOT replace the xylene with naptha...
A bit of advice..
I used this tek once and the chemicals smelled TERRIBLE and stunk up my house... the yield was also terrible.
Then I decided to use 69rons food grade tek using CaOH and d-limonene.
I got giant yields using that tek and my house smelled of delicious oranges; not that nasty chemical xylene smell

Yeah, no naphtha in place of xylene. Mescaline simply is not soluble in naphtha the way it is in xylene, toluene, or most preferably d-limonene.
Google d-limonene. It's pricey, but worth every penny. Xylene smells like a meth lab (your neighbors will agree....) but d-limonene smells a lot like standing in a room filled with 700 oranges.

woah, anyone else tried this limonene tek? could be the solution I've been looking for. organic solvents suck to work with and dispose of.

it is the answer to all of your problems!!!!
trust me... its the bomb... HUGE yields... seems that the alkaloids LOVE d-limonene even more than xylene!

oh and use HCL water, NOT vinegar for your acid. The hcl dries quicker and gives better crystals

Thanks for the link. So you're suggesting HCl from muriatic acid instead of vinegar? I guess the point is that vinegar is "food safe" but if makes a big difference in quality...

Yes use HCl... The vinegar gives you a sticky goopy mess that takes awhile to dry most of the time.. If you use hcl you will scrape up wonderful crystals in a few hours of evaporation
I followed 69rons tek but used HCl water and tested about 280 mg of crystals on myself and had a VERY VERY trippy experience lol

i was doing an extraction a year or 2 back, and used a plastic turkey baster. the xyene melted the entire inside of the turkey baster, and i was getting plastic into my final product i was going to evaporate down. it ruined the entire extraction.
xylene melts plastic.
use glass.

the 32oz is good for up to 200 gram of dried flesh so if your doing anything more, go for the gallon

I will not use plastic with Xylene, and I guess I'll hafta see about finding it somewhere....
I'll use d-limonene in the future, sounds like a good way to go.

Muriatic acid is a pool cleaner sold at most hardware stores. It's pretty much just dilute HCl... although I don't know it might have additives in it, never used it.

trust me, got with the HCl it really is sooooo much better. Plus... remember your stomach contains HCl so its not like its bad....
You will have much better and easier to work with final product if you use HCl
Home depot or Lowes carry muriatic acid in the pool department... it comes 33% I add 20 drops to 1.5 cups of water to get the right dilution

If I went ahead with muriatic acid, what sort of PH would I be trying to achieve? I have a digital meter, so it wont be hard to read.
Good point about the stomach acid... I guess it won't make a difference...

I'm not too sure about exact pH, but like I said... I would put 20 drops of acid from a pipette into 1.5 cups of water and then use about 50ml's of acid water per wash...
My crystals normally came out pretty white/tan.... The more acidic you make the water, the more other gunk you will pull and your crystals will be a darker brown color. I found 20 drops to 1.5 cups of water to be the sweet spot for me...
You can do the acetone and iso wash... after these washes you will be left with nothing but pure mescaline, but you will have lost some other tasty alkaloids. If you do not wash your crystals you will have mescaline plus a few other nice alkaloids.
Some prefer just mescaline by itself, some like mescaline plus the other alkaloids... its all preference really...
My first experience was with unwashed tan crystals at 280 mg so a combo of mescaline and other alkaloids and i had a serious psychedelic experience for a good 9-10 hours...
mescaline is one of the nicest drugs i have ever had the pleasure to experience... you will NOT be disappointed...
