 xanax BEFORE a trip?

If you ate say... 1mg of xanax, and then took a psychedelic 4-5 hours later how much do you think it would influence the trip? One time I took a bunch of xanax and ate like half a 10 strip of some decent L and had a great time didn't notice too much effects diminished. I felt if anything it helped take away those come up jitters and you just make a smooth transition from not tripping to tripping.
Anyway, what's everyone else's view on pre-trip xanax, as opposed to mid trip or post trip?

My next high dose i intend to try something of this nature. Sounds like a good plan. Personally, i would still take something post trip. I've had one trip where i wanted it to end, and i ate a 10mg valium. It chilled me out, and made the rest of the trip enjoyable!

that's the best way to do it, eat like 1mg of xanax 90 minutes before ingesting the mushrooms.
this way the peak won't be interrupted, but you'll have a calm comeup (the most anxiety-inducing part for me)

Yea, even if I'm not going to take some before a trip it is such a good thing to have on hand, because you know if shit starts going south you got that just in case if you feel like you want it to end. I think the thought of that alone in the back of your head is enough to keep you away from a bad trip simply because you know no matter how bad it might get you got some xanax to press the abort button if you absolutely need to.

Yea, the time I did that with L it seemed to really help. Supposedly though xanax will reduce some of the psychedelic properties of the drug and can dumb it down to not much more than just visuals. I didn't seem to notice the trip being that much different but idk it's hard to say I guess since I've only done that once.

yeah it's like skydiving with a parachute on
it's fun, but if you didn't have the parachute you'd be freaking out
*you really need xanax for LSD??? i never get anxious on acid

I ate a Valium before taking some good L one time and went to a Panic show. It was fantastic. Amazing combo and I didn't notice much loss regarding the L. I just felt very good and I was less mentally reclusive or something maybe.

Hmmm... I never expected to hear xanax help with the come up of shrooms. I haven't done shrooms yet, but now i'm considering testing that theory lol.

It's SOP for me to throw down 0.5mg xanax when I trip shrooms. Never been able to find any L here.

Xanax has a mere two hour half-life so if you take it two hours before a trip it has already worn off. Better to go in clean and reserve the benzos for when you're done with it. IME acid is pretty useless after the six hour mark.
It's possible a dose of Valium may help with anxiety without deleting the trip because it's less potent than Xanax. Valium has a half life of twelve hours.

No I don't NEED it, I've only taken LSD and xanax at the same time once. It wasn't bad though and it took away that comeup anxiety. I'm more concerned with having some "just in case" xanax available for when I wanna take a fatty dose of something incase it gets overwhelming.
