It means that you shouldn't close your account with reality. Dreams might not mean too terribly much, but they are evidence of the vast universe within your mind. There are other ways to get into that universe then falling asleep you can meditate or astrally project also. What if you had the ability to directly enter your subconcious and deal with issues there rather than on the surface of your conscious mind?
