Official 2010 Carolina Hunting Thread

This thread is for all Carolina hunters to talk and share finds. Lets try to keep the weather talk to a minimum because the mods don't really like it. This thread is primarily for active finds but post anything you find that is interesting. Lets all get along and help each other to learn more.

Here is my first active find of the year, I found some nice subbs this morning. Sadly I didn't have my camera with me so I had to use my cell phone but hopefully I will be going back tomorrow and I will get some good pictures.



This should be a good season so everyone get out there and lets see what you find.

It's interesting, the place I'm finding them has a huge manure pile but there was no sign of them anywhere on the pile. I found all of those out in the field and thats where all the pins I left were as well.

So we found almost 9 fresh ounces of subbs today. I'm not home yet so I can't post pics yet but it was a pretty epic haul. Brace yourselves boys.

Ok here we go, final weight was 8.6oz fresh. It was an awesome day of hunting. This field should produce most of the summer :thumbup:

Deconica coprophila
I know these aren't active but they are a pretty cool mushroom as well, they were growing primarily in the thicker weeds in the field.



And there were also a lot of some sort of Conocybe. These seem to be very common around here.


The total haul was pretty impressive considering we only picked for an hour. Good luck to everyone else out there!
